Middlesex have announced the release of several players. The best known of these is probably Keith Dutch. The 27 year old all rounder made his debut for the club in 1993 as a right-handed middle order batsman, and off spinner. He was Second X1 player of the year in 1999, and is currently on tour with the MCC in Canada.

Also released were left armer Chris Batt, 25 year-old seamer Alex Edwards and 24 year-old David Goodchild.

Middlesex are still looking for an overseas player for next season, with Justin Langer almost certain to be involved in the Ashes tour, and a new coach to replace Mike Gatting.
