13 Hundreds for Steven Smith in the Ashes, the second-most by any batter, behind Don Bradman's 19. Smith was tied second with Jack Hobbs (12) before the SCG hundred.
Smith's 13 hundreds against England are also the joint-second most for any batter against an opponent, again behind Bradman's 19 against England. Sunil Gavaskar against West Indies and Joe Root against India also have 13 hundreds.
3682 Runs scored by Smith in the Ashes so far, making him the second-highest run-getter of the competition, behind Bradman's 5028. He went past Hobbs' total of 3636 runs during his unbeaten 129 on Tuesday.
Smith's aggregate against England is also the second-most for any batter against an opponent, behind Bradman's 5028 against England.
37 Test hundreds for Smith, the sixth-most by any batter, taking him past Rahul Dravid's tally of 36 tons. It took 219 innings for Smith to score his 37th Test century: only Ponting (212) and Kumar Sangakkara (218) got there quicker.
7 Number of fifty-plus partnerships for Australia at SCG, the most in an innings in the Ashes. These are also the second-most for any Test-match innings, behind the eight by India in their first innings against England at The Oval in 2007.
18 Hundreds for Smith as captain in Tests. Only three batters have scored more Test hundreds as captain. Eleven of those 18 came across 26 home Tests, equal-most for any captain, alongside Ricky Ponting.
5 Hundreds for Smith in Tests at SCG, the second-most by any batter at the venue, behind Ponting's six. Smith has also scored five Test hundreds at MCG. Smith is also the second-highest run-getter in SCG Tests, behind Ponting.
On the other hand, Travis Head scored his first hundred at the SCG. He now has a century at all seven venues in Australia where he has played. Only four others scored hundreds at seven Australian venues - Steve Waugh, Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer and David Warner.
7 150-plus scores by Head in his 12 Test hundreds so far. Only four batters had more 150-plus scores within their first 12 hundreds - eight each by Bradman, Zaheer Abbas, Virender Sehwag and Dennis Amiss (from 11 100s). Among Australians, only Bradman (8) and Steve Waugh (7) had seven or more 150+ scores across their first 12 Test hundreds before Head.
However, Head's highest score is only 175, the lowest among the 47 players with seven or more 150-plus scores in Tests. Only two other players with seven or more 150-plus scores have not scored a double hundred: Colin Cowdrey and Mohammad Azharuddin.
152 Balls that Head needed to bring up his 150. It is the equal-third fastest 150 in the Ashes since the ball-by-ball data is available (starting with the 2001 Ashes). Adam Gilchrist's 141-ball effort at Birmingham in 2001 is the quickest in that period, followed by Head's off 143 balls in 2021 at Brisbane.
Zak Crawley's 150 at Manchester in 2023 also came off 152 balls. However, the fastest recorded 150 in the Ashes belongs to Joe Darling, who scored 160 during his 85-ball hundred at the SCG in 1898.
Darling's 150 came in just 135 minutes, and was estimated to have taken 129-131 balls to get there. That effort from 1898 is also the fastest individual 150 at SCG, with Head's 152-ball feat on Tuesday being second-quickest.
