Another total body exercise that we can look at is the squat and press. There a number of benefits that one can get from these exercises and it can be performed with either dumbbells or a barbell. The other advantage that one can have is that you can look to develop base strength using a squat and press with slower controlled movement or activation exercise with a more explosive movement. The squat and press can be in any maintenance program -- it has added benefit if you want to do it with a slower controlled movement and or with a more explosive movement. One can manipulate the exercise to suite your program and get the results that you want.
