He is the second New Zealand wicketkeeper with nine dismissals in a Test, and the first to take nine catches: McCullum had eight catches and a stumping. If Watling takes another catch in Sri Lanka's second innings, it will become only the fifth instance of a wicketkeeper taking ten catches in a Test.

100 Number of sixes for Brendon McCullum in Tests - the joint-highest with Adam Gilchrist. McCullum reached this milestone in his 98th Test, while Gilchrist hit 100 sixes in his 96-match career. Both hit their 99th and the 100th six off Sri Lanka's leading spinner in the match - Gilchrist off Muttiah Muralitharan (consecutive sixes) and McCullum off Rangana Herath. McCullum took 9756 balls to reached this landmark, compared to Gilchrist's 6578.

20 Fifty-plus scores for Kane Williamson in international matches this year - the joint highest with Joe Root. He also completed 2500 runs across all formats this year; he is only the eighth batsman to do so. Kumar Sangakkara and Ricky Ponting have done it twice.

5 Times Williamson has made 50-plus scores in both innings of a Test. He equalled Stephen Fleming and Ross Taylor in this aspect.
