Sri Lanka 280 for 6 (Priyanjan 92, Perera 86) beat England 264 (Wright 68, Lyth 62, Perera 4-54) by 16 runs
Sri Lanka beat England by 16 runs in the third match in the Malaysian Under-19 Invitational Tri-Series at the Kinrara Oval.
At one stage, England seemed down and out when chasing a target of 281, but a fourth-wicket stand of 121 between Adam Lyth (62) and Ben Wright (68) and a quick 34 off 23 balls from Mervyn Westfield set up an exciting finish but they fell just short. Tissara Perera was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 54.
England only had themselves to blame for allowing Sri Lanka to rack up such a large total. Their bowling was often wayward as Kushal Perera (86) and Ashan Priyanjan (92) to put on 177 for the third wicket.
