Gyaneshwar Thapliyal, the former Delhi allrounder, died in Mumbai on November 25 while undergoing treatment for cancer. He was 69.

Gyaneshwar Thapliyal, the former Delhi allrounder, died in Mumbai on November 25 while undergoing treatment for cancer. He was 69.
Prasad, a right-hand batsman and an offspin bowler, played 68 first-class matches from 1958-59 and 1973-74, scoring 2297 runs at 25.24. He also took 98 wickets at 19.87, with career-best bowling figures of 9 for 34 while playing for North Zone.
He represented Delhi for 15 years and turned out for Southern Punjab in the 1966-67 season. After retiring, he worked as a Ranji selector, as well as a manager for state and zonal teams.
