India v Zimbabwe 2000-01

At Kanpur, December 11

15-Apr-2002
At Kanpur, December 11. India won by nine wickets. Toss: Zimbabwe.
Ganguly dominated proceedings from start to finish. He took five wickets, top-scored with an unbeaten 71, hit the winning runs with 25 overs to spare to secure the series 3-1 - and received a one-match ban for excessive appealing and dissent. Dahiya was also given a suspended one-match ban. Zimbabwe's preparation had been hindered by the late arrival of their kit, but Campbell and Madondo showed no ill-effects from this setback as they opened with 60. Once Agarkar removed them, however, Ganguly ran through the order, beginning with the dangerous Andy Flower, and Zimbabwe subsided to 165 all out. Ganguly then clobbered their hapless bowlers for 71 runs in 68 balls. Accumulating 157, he and Tendulkar almost completed the victory unaided through their 12th century opening partnership in one-day internationals and their second of the series.
Man of the Match: S. C. Ganguly.
