Both sides chose from 15 players. Khurram Manzoor, Ali Asad and Usman Salahuddin batted twice for Pakistan A - Asad bagged an unusual pair. There were five ducks in all,and from 73-6 the innings was rescued by Umar Amin (39) and wicketkeeper Adnan Akmal, who added 83. Finn claimed 4-16 from 15 overs in what turned out to be his only bowl of the tour.England batted indifferently, with the exception of Ian Bell and James Taylor, whose stand of 102 took the score to 118-2 before both retired (Taylor resumed later). England then lost 6-20 to make it 142-8. Only Jos Buttler (32*in 85 minutes) survived for long after that, although it was his second innings of the day. Ali, slated to open in the First Test, also went in twice, and was out for seven and 12.
