Zimbabwe v West Indies

Wisden's review of the third match, Zimbabwe v West Indies

15-Apr-2017
At Bulawayo, November 19, 2016. Tied. ‡Zimbabwe 257 (50 overs) (C. R. Ervine 92, Sikandar Raza 77; C. R. Brathwaite 4-48); West Indies 257-8 (50 overs) (K. C. Brathwaite 78, S. D. Hope 101). Zimbabwe 2pts, West Indies 2pts. MoM: S. D. Hope. Donald Tiripano hadn't bowled since the tenth over, but was recalled for the last, with West Indies needing four to win - and conceded just three. It allowed Zimbabwe to pinch a tie from a game they had seemed bound to lose 30 minutes earlier, when West Indies were 220-2 in the 45th, after Hope's first international century. But Carter was run out trying to steal a bye to win from the last ball, the third wicket to go down in that tumultuous final over. Zimbabwe had stumbled too, after Craig Ervine and Sikandar Raza put on 144 for the third wicket in 25 overs, but eventually reached their highest one-day total of the year. Local umpire Russell Tiffin - overseeing his 150th ODI - had also stood in the last tie in Zimbabwe, against New Zealand at Bulawayo in October 1997.
