ESPNcricinfo staff

India Women will play their first Test match in eight years during their upcoming tour of England. They will play one four-day Test and three ODIs on the tour, which begins with a two-day warm-up match at Loughborough on August 7 and 8 and concludes with the third ODI at Lord's on August 25. Mithali Raj will lead the team.

Of all the players in the 15-person squad, only Raj, vice-captain Karuna Jain and medium-pacer Jhulan Goswami have any Test experience. All three featured in India's last Test match, a five-wicket win over England at Taunton in 2006.

India Women squad: Mithali Raj (capt), Karuna Jain, Smriti Mandhana, Thirush Kamini, Poonam Raut, Harmanpreet Kaur, Jhulan Goswami, Nagarajan Niranjana, Shubhlakshmi Sharma, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Ekta Bisht, Poonam Yadav, Swagatika Rath, Vellaswamy Vanitha, Sushma Verma; Sudha Shah (coach).

Some good news for the ladies!! I'm surprised that despite the fact that they managed a series win in 2006 (even before their male counterparts did in 2007), they haven't played a test!! BCCI, where are your priorities??? A quality batswoman like Mithali Raj and a good bowler like Jhulan should have played more test matches
