5.4 to J Charles, Chopped on! Caught on the crease and tries to dab it down to third man but it was too close perhaps and he looked a bit indecisive. Back of a length delivery that came in from outside off and took the inside edge, zingers are off and Charles has to go back in the hut after a quickfire 30!. 61/1 5.6 to S Descarte, Taken. Wow, what a sweet timing, but he has picked out deep midwicket to perfection! He was in such a hurry, perishes in Shahid Afridi style. It was a short ball angled into the body, he picked the bones out of that and the fielder took a really good catch. 65/2 16.2 to Sikandar Raza, Short of a length, coming back in slightly from wide of off, rocks back and launches it in the air. Holder strikes again, Young makes no mistake while backpedaling at long-on and reverse cups it nicely to send the dangerous customer Sikandar Raza back in the hut. A huge wicket at a crucial juncture. 159/5 18.6 to RL Chase, Tries a cheeky shot but fails to execute! Rearranges his stumps with an attempted yorker, shapes it in from outside off as he tries to scoop it over the keeper's head but didn't account for the swing in the air while moving across his stumps. Chase has to take the long walk back in the pavilion. 4.27, excellent figures, second best in CPL. 186/6

11.4 to F du Plessis, Undone by the flight, lures him with the bait and he bites it. Lunges forward and slogged straight into the hands of Bishop at deep midwicket, hangs onto it brilliantly. A magnificent innings nevertheless, misses out on a well-deserved half-century by four runs. 109/3 15.3 to SC Williams, A casual waft from Williams and he gets the last laugh, gives him a fiery send-off! He was outsmarted him with a brilliant bit of bowling, sharp glovework too! Dropped short and kept it away from the firing range, he was out of his crease and missed the cut, Ferreira quickly whips off the bails and that's a big breakthrough. 154/4

0.3 to JP Greaves, Ripped through the stumps! Good length and it jags back viciously to clatter the leg stump. What a fantastic celebration, pumps his fists and jumps in the air. That was a corker of a delivery, went through his defences. Excellent delivery, right on the money and Greaves has no answer to that. He was late in jamming his bat down and getting behind the line. 4/2 2.3 to KO Wickham, Wrecked his stumps! Makes an absolute horrible mess of his stumps, trying to whack that across the line but the ball nips in from a hard length outside off and pings the off stump. That was a short stay on the crease and Royals find themselves in a pickle. But what a peach of a delivery, he had to play at it. 21/3 2.6 to R Powell, Another one bites the dust! This is unbelievable! Descarte snags this in the deep, pouches the miscued skier at long-on and Powell goes without troubling the scorers. This approach is not working at all. They need some rebuilding work now. It was pitched on a hard length and got some seam movement off the deck, he went deep in the crease and knew he didn't get all of it. 21/4
3 | 0 | 40 | 1 | 13.33 | 7 | 1 | 3 | 2 | 0 | |
6.2 to JO Holder, Gets the big fish! Zingers are alight as he tries to play a similar shot down the ground and it was pitched at the same length but a touch quicker and he is late in lifting it up. Royals are in a huge spot of bother now. 55/6
3 | 0 | 21 | 1 | 7.00 | 10 | 0 | 1 | 3 | 0 | |
5.4 to KR Mayers, That's a tremendous riposte! Half of the team is back in the hut as Mayers falters, he looks extremely disappointed by his shot and is slowly walking back in the pavilion. Sharp delivery on a nagging off stump line, he sways away and upper-cuts, find the fielder who was perfectly stationed for this shot at deep third. 46/5
4 | 0 | 21 | 1 | 5.25 | 12 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 0 | |
9.3 to D Ferreira, Tossed up fuller on off, tempts him to go over the top and he falls into the trap without getting much elevation and power behind the shot. Scythes it away aerially but it only goes as far as deep extra cover where Williams takes a superb catch! Celebrates while laying down on the ground as the Zimbabwean duo works in tandem to punch another hole in Royals' chase as they continue to slide into the abyss. 79/7
4 | 0 | 22 | 1 | 5.50 | 11 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
12.5 to Qais Ahmad, Lofted into the air, didn't get all of it. Floated up fuller on off-stump, he takes the bait and tries to go big down the ground, Melius (the sub) takes a stupendous diving catch at long-off.. 89/8
2 | 0 | 14 | 1 | 7.00 | 6 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
15.3 to J Bishop, Got him! Tossed up on off and he goes for the big shot on the leg side, pouched nicely by Joseph at deep midwicket. His eyes lit up as he attempted to seize on the full ball. 118/9
1 | 0 | 14 | 1 | 14.00 | 3 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | |
19.6 to NRJ Young, Hits a length ball straight to long-on and Sikandar Raza takes a simple diving catch but you got to feel for Young who deserved a half-century. Props to him for reducing the defeat margin and not succumbing meekly - this innings should give him plenty of confidence and will certainly serve him well in the tournament. 147/10 |
