26.5 to AK Markram, Castled! Guwahati comes back to life as Bumrah breaks through. After a series of length balls that pushed Markram onto the back foot, he slips one in full and straight around off, 140kph. He couldn't resist the drive, goes for it and gets a thick inside edge that dismantles the middle and leg stumps. Markram is livid with himself and has to walk back now. Bumrah should have had Markram in the first hour, has him on the last ball before tea on day 1. 82/1 143.1 to SR Harmer, the off-stump is flattened! Bumrah bowls a beauty from wide of the crease. Gets this to angle in and straighten off a length to square Harmer who doesn't bother turning back because he knows what's just happened.. 462/9

81.1 to T de Zorzi, Pant dives to his left and takes a superb catch! Siraj strikes on his first ball with the new cherry. Length ball slanting away from him, de Zorzi is not sure whether he should leave it or play it. Hangs his bat at it away from the body. The ball takes the outside edge and swerves away. Pant does well to cover the movement and take it in front of first slip. A late boost on the opening day for India. 246/6 138.1 to S Muthusamy, the short ball has done the trick! Siraj surprises Muthusamy with a bumper, but he still takes him on and ends up getting a top-edge that flies straight to Jaiswa at fine leg. He ran in a few yards from the ropes and took it at a comfortable height.. 431/8

27.2 to RD Rickelton, Gone! Kuldeep strikes with his second ball of this spell! Tossed up full outside off and it was drifting in. The ball spun away as Rickelton looked to drive and the edge is gobbled up by Pant! Suddenly South Africa have lost both set batters. 82/2 63.1 to T Stubbs, Edged and taken! Kuldeep with some extra bounce does the trick as he draws Stubbs forward with a full ball angled across him. The ball shot up more than Stubbs expected and it flies to Rahul at first slip from high off the bat. Rahul does well to take it, having to move slightly to his right. Came quickly at him, but he makes amends for his drop earlier in the day. Stubbs falls one short of a half-century. 187/4 67.2 to PWA Mulder, Hit straight to mid-off! Mulder what have you done? This is tossed up nice and slow outside off, 78kph, and Mulder looks for the inside out drive but gets no elevation on it as he hits it straight to Yashasvi Jaiswal, who completes an easy catch to leave Kuldeep doing a head-bobbing celebration. 201/5 151.1 to M Jansen, chopped on!! Jansen can't believe his lack of luck. He attacked Kuldeep all day, but now falls to a bottom edge while being just seven short of what would've been a maiden Test hundred. Jansen is off into the distance already, but not before giving South Africa a huge score. Kuldeep angled it across, and bowled it on a length around sixth stump. Jansen transferred his weight back to try and guide the ball wide of slip, but ended up getting a bottom edge. Who knows Jansen would have succeeded had he instead chosen to swing for six?!. 489/10

57.2 to T Bavuma, Bavuma chips it to mid-off! Jadeja with the breakthrough! Good catch from Jaiswal too! This is tossed up full outside off, drifting in. Bavuma looks to loft it over the mid-off fielder but doesn't get under it. Jaiswal has to dive in front to take it, and he makes no mistake, catching it low.. 166/3 120.3 to K Verreynne, India finally have a wicket!. Clever from Jadeja. He saw Verreynne stepping out, Jadeja fired it wider, got it to rip away sharply to beat his jab and Pant did the rest. The umpires wanted to check if Pant collected the ball behind the stumps, and they inform Verreynne that all izz well. An 88-run partnership has been broken. The key for Jadeja there was also how he held his length back a touch to have him lunging at that.. 334/7

35.3 to DC Jurel, Jurel falls to the pull again!! The slowness of the pitch comes into play as well. Jansen bangs it short - and with that height of his, he gets some extra bounce - as Jurel goes for the pull from around off. But it turns out to be a mistimed shot - I almost thought it popped up off the bottom of the bat. Maharaj, at mid-on, went to his right, and kept his eyes on the dipping ball to grab it. South Africa running away with the session now. 102/4 37.2 to RR Pant, has he nicked it? Umpire thinks so! But Pant reviews. I thought I heard that snick too. Skipped out of his crease and Jansen dragged his length back. Pant tried to slap it away but could only manage an edge, confirmed by UltraEdge that's gobbled up and India's collapse continues! Pant's attempt to counterattack against Jansen goes horribly wrong. 105/5 41.4 to K Nitish Kumar Reddy, Absolute blinder from Markram! Jansen at it again! It's the short ball ploy that continues to work. Dug in short on leg and Reddy looks to fend it down. The ball flies off the glove and Markram runs to his right and flings himself at full stretch to grab it one-handed. South Africa's catching has been sensational today, and this might just be the best of the lot! India capitulating. 119/6 43.3 to RA Jadeja, Jansen is really troubling India with the short stuff! This flies to the cordon off Jadeja's shoulder! But SA have reviewed. Another well-directed bouncer that angles in from outside off. And that's pinged off his shoulder, onto Jadeja's bat and straight to Markram in the cordon! Jadeja was trying to drop his hands and swivel out of the way, but can't get the bat low enough and is unlucky to get out like that. Good review and India lose their seventh. 122/7 81.5 to Kuldeep Yadav, Jansen has the five-for he thoroughly deserves! Kuldeep's 134-ball resistance is over. Back of length outside off, Kuldeep follows the ball and ends up giving catching practice to Aiden Markram, who completes a five-for of catches!. 194/9 83.5 to JJ Bumrah, got him!! Jansen has six. He offers a smile to Bumrah. Short delivery yet again, and Bumrah fails to execute his attempted pull. Bavuma, meanwhile, asks his players around regarding what they think about the follow-on. He then rushes to the dugout. And, finally, he signals that South Africa will bat. By the way, this is how Jansen got his sixth: it was another short ball which climbed towards Bumrah's left shoulder on middle, and as Bumrah looked to pull, he got a top edge, under which KV settled without having to move an inch. 201/10

21.3 to KL Rahul, Edged and taken! Good catch by Markram at slip and Maharaj breaks the resistance! It's full outside off, slowed down to 79kph, and the ball spins away with some extra bounce as Rahul lunges forward in defence to go off the shoulder of the blade. Markram takes a good low one-handed catch. 65/1

32.2 to YBK Jaiswal, gone!! Popped up for Jansen at backward point. Jaiswal looks down on the pitch, as if to wonder how did that happen. South Africa needed a man as tall as Jansen there, as he dived forward to take the ball low. Harmer bowled it short and on off, getting the ball to turn away. But I think it went slower to Jaiswal than he expected, and he ended up tamely fending it to backward point after shaping to cut. The extra bounce may have helped Harmer too. 95/2 34.3 to B Sai Sudharsan, good catch by Rickelton at midwicket!! SS throws it away - he had the opportunity at No. 3 on a flat pitch, and he falls on a ball he should have rather smashed for a boundary. But wait... the umpires have asked for a confirmation from the TV umpire. They want to check if the catch is clean, and indeed it is. The ball popped out of Rickelton's hands for a moment, but settled back in immediately after. Harmer bowled it short, and SS went for the pull. He hit it hard and flat, but Rickelton dived to his left to grab the ball. 96/3 78.1 to Washington Sundar, Harmer does it again! Washington edges one to first slip! This is full and dipping outside off, and Washington was caught at the crease. He pushes at it and gets a thick edge and Markram takes a simple catch. A defiant knock comes to an end. 194/8

18.3 to RD Rickelton, Tame dismissal, but Jadeja gets the breakthrough! Rickelton dances down to a full ball around off and looks to drive it with a straight bat. But he ends up slicing it off the outside half of the bat and Siraj at cover takes a good catch above his head. 59/1 28.1 to AK Markram, Knocked him over, a Jadeja special in Guwahati! Bowls it from slightly wide of the crease, spears it in on a length on middle and leg, 92.4kph. It grips and spins past Markram's forward-defence and rattles the stumps. Both the South Africa openers back in the hut with a lead of 362. 74/2 58.1 to T de Zorzi, Plumb in front? The umpire thinks so, de Zorzi wants the TV umpire to intervene. Lands it on a length around off, he gets down to sweep, perhaps a tad early into the shot. He is beatenon the under edge and hit flush below the knee-roll. Three reds on ball-tracking and de Zorzi misses out on a half-century. South Africa 466 ahead. 178/4 78.3 to T Stubbs, Knocked over! And South Africa declare! Full on off and it spins away to hit the top of off as Stubbs attempts another slog sweep. Bavuma immediately signals the declaration. Stubbs misses out on his century by six runs, but more importantly South Africa have set India a mammoth target of 549. 260/5

Bavuma is undone, almost unsighted, with the ball outside his eyeline. Gloves it straight to Reddy at leg slip. Good catch because Pant did dive in front of him! 6.1 to YBK Jaiswal, Jaiswal falls cutting and South Africa have their first. Shortish ball outside off, he hangs back to play the cut. Gets the cue end of the blade and Verreynne makes no mistake. Jansen on the board nice and early. 17/1

9.2 to KL Rahul, Jaffa! Harmer bowls a dream delivery to crash India's dreams. Nicely tossed up outside off, full as well, 83.2kph. Rahul leans forward and looks to flick it across the line. He gets beaten on the inside edge and sees the ball hit top of off. South Africa making the right noises early in the India innings. 21/2 23.3 to Kuldeep Yadav, Knocked him over with a straighter one that keeps a little low. Quicker arm ball on a length around off. Kuldeep goes back to punch it away. But it keeps coming in with the angle and rattles middle. South Africa have the first wicket for the day. 40/3 23.6 to DC Jurel, Catching practice for slip and Harmer is on a roll. Almost a mirror image of the Kuldeep catch that was dropped. Tossed up outside off, a little bit of drift away. Jurel prods forward to defend for the turn but it doesn't spin in much. Takes the outside edge and this time Markram takes a good, low catch. Harmer is on a run, someone stop him!. 42/4 31.2 to RR Pant, 75.5kmh, that one bounces and how! Takes the leading edge off the shoulder of the bat and Pant is gone. Slow and around off, Pant stays back and offers his bat and Harmer gets turn and bounce. It almost spits off, taking the edge near the sticker of the bat and lobs towards the gully region where Markram reaches in time from slip. Massive wicket, India five down. 58/5 60.4 to Washington Sundar, Sharp catch from Markram and it is a five-wicket haul for Harmer Washington is out of here. Quicker delivery on a length outside off, 90.1kph. He went back to defend but then ended up hanging his bat out. The outside edge went sharply to the right of Markram, who held on. A massive strike this given Washington's ability to hang around. A ninth catch for Markram in this Test match, the most by any fielder. 130/7 62.1 to K Nitish Kumar Reddy, make that number six for Harmer! A bit of loop outside off, Reddy goes the reverse but doesn't get close to it at all, the ball kisses the glove and lobs up for the simplest of catches for the keeper. 138/8

63.1 to RA Jadeja, Jadeja dances down for a big swing, stumping completed and the third umpire is called to check and he's gone! Some turn, some lack of bounce which meant the ball sneaked under Jadeja's swinging bat, and he was miles outside to make it back in time. 140/9 63.5 to Mohammed Siraj, Marco Jansen has taken a stunner and that sums up South Africa's series. Temba Bavuma cannot believe it. Siraj swung big down the ground, it went high into the clear sky, Jansen ran back from mid-on, from the sun into the shadows, his eyes on the ball throughout and he stuck his left hand out with a dive timed to perfection. They all run towards Jansen and try to mob him, they can't take him down. But they have taken down one of the biggest oppositions in Test cricket on their home soil - beating India 2-0, that too for the second time in Test cricket. The first was under Hansie Cronje in 2000. 140/10

47.5 to B Sai Sudharsan, Muthusamy is on the board and South Africa get the desired outcome five balls into the session. Tossed up full outside off, Sai Sudharsan has been doing this all morning - pressing forward to smother the spin. This time, he doesn't cover the line fully and the ball goes off the outside edge to slip. An eighth catch in this Test match for Markram, level with Rahane for most in a game. 95/6
