The Japanese season, which extends from April to October, is well under way. Not only have the domestic competitions been in full swing, but Japan has had two tours from Australia’s Melbourne CC and the Ned Flanders XI from Queensland. The men’s national team has also taken part in the World Cricket League Division 5.
Robert Walters Japan KK continued their support of the men’s national team and enabled them to play in full coloured clothing for the first time.
The women’s national team will tour Shanghai in September, where they will take part in the six-a-side tournament, and will also play international matches against China and other touring nations. The Greg Chappell Cricket Centre Player of the Year Awards will be awarded at the annual JCA Awards in November to the best performed Japanese player in domestic and international cricket.

Bermuda’s executive director, Neil Speight, has been elected to the ICC's executive board for a two-year term. The board is responsible for managing the affairs of the ICC, with the prime aim of advancing the objectives of the ICC.
The board is made up of a representative of each Full Member country and three representatives elected by the Associate Members - Samir Inamder (Kenya), Imran Khwaja (Singapore), and Neil Speight (Bermuda).
Speight said: "It is a great responsibility and humbling honour to be elected to the Executive Board. It is not often that in one day a person gets 38 new bosses, but today I join Samir and Imran irepresenting the 33 Associate and 58 Affiliate countries on the Executive Board.
“I believe that this elevation is in part a reflection of the esteem that Bermuda is now held in world cricket. We participated at the World Cup, the Under-19s got to the World Cup, the ladies qualified for the World Cup qualifier and the BCB were just awarded the Global Best Overall Development Program.

Argentina’s Catalina Greloni, Delfina Canton, Veronica Vasquez and Cecilia Birnie took part in the Cricket Coaching Academy held in Trinidad and Tobago. The players gained valuable experience during the course of the two weeks. An Argentina spokesperson said: “The Argentine Cricket Association would like to thank Ann Browne-John and her team for the excellent work done at the Academy and for all that they are doing to develop the game in the Americas region.”

Moresby on 22 June. Assad Vala made his third half century to lead the Titans to their first SP Super Series grand final win. Titans made 143 for 3, which was just enough as they bolwed out Invincibles for 141.

Omer Hussain, the 23-year-old left-hander, has been called up to Scotland’s squad for their Intercontinental Cup matches against Bermuda and Canada.
Hussain, the cousin of Majid Haq, adds youth to the squad and he arrives in good form after averaging 62 for his local club, Ferguslie. His stand-in captain, Ryan Watts, is insistent that the presence of some younger faces is by no means for show.

Guernsey have become the 34th country to be granted Associate membership of the ICC after their application was unanimously approved during the annual conference in Dubai.
Vanuatu had also applied but they failed to meet the necessary playing requirements as they had not beaten two existing Associates in competition. Mozambique withdrew their application.
A further three countries from the Europe region - Bulgaria, Estonia and Turkey - were granted Affiliate status, taking the ICC's total member count to 104.

Zimbabwe's withdrawal from the ICC World Twenty20 in England in 2009 has opened the way for a third Associate county to be invited from next month's ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers.
The leading Associates meet in Belfast between August 2 and 4 with the top two gained an automatic place in the main event the following June.
"The third associate will come through the qualifiers in August this year," Samir Inamdar, the chairman of the ICC's Affiliates and Associates, told Cricinfo. "I have had a conversation with Giles Clarke, the ECB chairman, who has agreed that it is logical to replace Zimbabwe with an Associate."

Samir Inamdar, the chairman of Cricket Kenya, was elected as the chairman of the Associate and Affiliate members of the ICC at the annual conference in Dubai.
Inamdar, who was already one of the three representatives of the non Test-playing countries on the ICC executive board, replaces H.H. Tunku Imran who stood down because of his commitments with the IOC.
Inamdar, who polled 26 votes, is joined on the ICC executive board, by Imran Khwaja (Singapore, 22 votes) and Neil Speight (Bermuda, 21). Rene van Iashort from the Netherlands received 18 votes while Israel’s Stanley Pearman, who was a sitting representative, finished bottom of the pile with 16 votes.

Fortune CC will play top of the table team Bangkok 11 in the B Division final on Sunday July 13. After a delayed start, the season is coming to an end.
Southerners 20/20 Challenge finals are on weekend 12th and 13th at Harrow International School. Siam Parrots will play BCC in the Cup Final. Shield and Bowl finalist still to be decided though Punjab and Asia United will play for the Global Turf Plate Final. Southerners have raised about 15,000 baht from this tournament to go towards junior cricket in the rural areas
of Thailand.
