Yorkshire overcame a late wobble to beat Middlesex by two wickets off the penultimate ball of their Pro40 clash at Headingley.
They had seemed to be coasting as they reached 158 for 3 chasing a modest 183, with the required rate at around a run a ball. James Dalrymple's dismissal of Gerard Brophy for 49 pulled the rug from under the innings as five wickets fell for seven runs. Tim Murtagh inflicted most of the damage with three wickets but Rich Pyrah (15 not out) kept his head to see Yorkshire across the line.
Middlesex also suffered from a collapse, but theirs came at the top of the order as they slid to 61 for 5 before Ben Scott anchored a recovery with an unbeaten 54. Pyrah was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 22 off his eight overs.

A double hundred from Abhinav Mukund and a century by Tanmay Srivastava guided India Under-19s to 491 for 3 declared on the first day of the second Test at Kandy. Sri Lanka had reached 11 for 0 in their reply by the close.
On a grassless pitch India won the toss and batted, and Sri Lanka's only success in the first two sessions came when Shreevats Goswami was bowled for 29. There followed a run spree as Mukund and Srivastava cut loose, adding 263 in under 55 overs before Srivastava was dismissed. He reached his fifty in 63 balls and his hundred in 143 balls and in all batted for 152 balls hitting 13 fours.
That wicket did not stem the flow as Mukund and Virat Kohli added 100 for the third wicket before Mukund was run out for 205. He faced 242 balls and hit 24 fours and one six.

A good week for Kent got better with their six-wicket win against Leicestershire to take them to the top of Division Two of the Pro40. Darren Stevens, who helped them over the line in the Twenty20 final, was again on hand as the finisher, striking an unbeaten 42 from 35 balls.
Rob Key eased to 63 but there was no bat-throwing this time when he was caught behind by Paul Nixon off the bowling of James Allenby. By the time he fell, with the score 154 for 4, Kent were well on their way to success. They were home with 27 balls to spare.
Simon Cook was their most productive bowler, with 3 for 36, while Stevens and Yasir Arafat both grabbed two. Paul Nixon boosted Leicestershire to 175, but his was a lone hand.

Pankaj Singh picked up the last two wickets early on the third day as India A wrapped up the first match against Kenya in Mombasa by an innings and 98 runs. The victory was set up by Piyush Chawla's four-wicket haul on the second day as the home side faced imminent defeat, struggling at 192 for 8.
Singh trapped both Peter Ongondo and Elijah Otieno leg before to wrap up the innings for 211. Though the Kenyans fell way short of making India bat again, it was an improvement from the first-innings capitulation of 97. Chawla finished with a match haul of 6 for 45, continuing his good form from Zimbabwe. Parthiv Patel bagged the Man-of-the-Match award for his 124.
The second match, at the same venue, gets underway on August 10.

Luke Wright celebrated his call-up to England's Twenty20 World Championship squad with a breathtaking 73-ball 125 as Sussex completed a two-wicket win in a high-scoring match at Hove. Still, when Wright was fifth out with 86 still needed, it required sensible innings from Carl Hopkinson, Robin Martin-Jenkins and the tail to see the chase home.
Wright, who earlier this season hit a Twenty20 century off 45 balls, was in supreme touch as he struck 19 fours and four sixes. He displayed the clean striking that made him the leading run-scorer in this year's Twenty20 and caught the eye of England's selectors.
He showed brutal strength through the off side and made full use of a short leg-side boundary as Gloucestershire's attack, apart from Jon Lewis, was made to look pedestrian. He was finally dismissed when a top-edged sweep found Chris Taylor and he left to a long standing ovation.

England Under-19 claimed the opening Test against Pakistan by an innings and 58 runs at Scarborough. Following their first-innings performance, the spinners were again key to England's success as Tom Westley, Liam Dawson and Alex Wakely shared six wickets.
Pakistan offered early resistance as Ahmed Shahzad and Shan Masood added 80 for the first wicket until Masood was caught off Dawson. Wickets then fell regularly as Dawson and Westley collected the first five including Umar Amin, who hit 113 in the first innings, for 25.
Wakely, the Northamptonshire allrounder, broke the monopoly when he ended a brief flurry by Gulraiz Sadaf with a return catch. As his team-mates fell around him, Ali Asad battled hard and added 63 with Mohammad Aamer before England's seamers finally made an impression.

Hundreds from Subramaniam Badrinath and Parthiv Patel carried India A to a 408 for 8 declared and then Piyush Chawla spun out four Kenyan wickets to put the tourists on the verge of a big win on the second day at Mombasa. Collins Obuya's 51 was the top score for Kenya, who began their second innings 309 runs in arrears, but a lack of support saw them stumble to 191 for 8 by stumps.
The morning began with a light drizzle but play started on time, although Kenya were without their captain, Steve Tikolo, who did not take the field until later because of a calf strain. Patel and Badrinath, the overnight batsmen, began the day in the same aggressive vein as the evening before. Patel, who resumed on 100, was aggressive and moved to 124 quickly before slapping Hiren Varaiya's slow left-arm spin to a diving Jimmy Kamande at mid-on.

A superb display from the India Under-19 bowlers helped their side to a 182-run victory against Sri Lanka U-19 in the first Test at the Colts Cricket Club ground in Colombo.
Chasing 278 to win, the Sri Lankans were bowled out for 95, thanks chiefly to spinners Shiv Prakash and Ravindra Jadeja, who shared seven wickets between them. With the target out of reach, Sri Lanka had to play out time to salvage a draw but lost their last five wickets for eight runs in 74 deliveries. Jadeja was particularly impressive, conceding a mere five runs off his 13 overs and picking up four wickets. Mathurage Perera was the Sri Lankan top-scorer for the second time in the match, following up his first-innings 74 with 23 in the second, but apart from Lahiru Weragala, who also made 23, and Dinesh Lokuge, none of the other batsmen reached 20.
The Indians started the day with a lead of 136 and added 141 more before declaring their second innings at 223 for 7. Overnight batsmen Abhinav Mukund and Tanmay Srivastava completed their half-centuries, while Saurav Tiwary blitzed 43 off 23 balls to ensure that the Indians bowlers had enough time to bowl Sri Lanka out in the second innings. Tissara Perera was Sri Lanka's bowling star, snaring four wickets at an economy rate of less than three, but he got little support from the rest.

England Under-19 took a huge stride towards claiming the first Test against Pakistan after making them follow-on at Scarborough. The spin duo of Tom Westley and Liam Dawson claimed Pakistan's last eight wickets for 80 with only Umar Amin's century offering major resistance.
The England batsmen continued their strong start from the opening day with Adam Lyth and Ben Wright joining Alex Wakely with centuries and the pair added 228 for the third wicket. Lyth's ton came off 109 balls, while Wright was more sedate taking 176.
From 429 for 2, England's innings fell away with their last eight wickets adding 103 as Pakistan's bowlers finally made an impression on a flat pitch. Mohammad Aamer closed the innings in a hurry with three quick wickets.

Logtenberg sets new South African record

South Africa women completed a predictable 3-0 clean sweep against Netherlands as Johmari Logtenberg struck the highest score by a South African in one-day internationals and the sixth-best of all time

South Africa's women completed a predictable 3-0 clean sweep against Netherlands as Johmari Logtenberg struck the highest score by a South African in one-day internationals and the sixth-best of all time. She shared a stand of 224 with Mignon du Preez and for the second time in the series Netherlands failed to reach three figures.
However, the home side had made their best start of the three matches with a spirited performance in the field. Mandy Kornet took two early wickets as South Africa wobbled on 56 for 3. Then Logtenberg took charge with her 160-ball innings. There was plenty of running involved with only 54 of her runs coming in boundaries. Logtenberg overtook the previous best for South Africa in ODIs - Daleen Terblanche's 114 from the second match of this series - , while du Preez offered fine support to take the total well out of sight.
The bowlers then produced a familiarly professional display, all six used chipping in with at least one wicket, but fittingly Logtenberg finished off the match with two scalps in her first four balls.
