Godalming was one of the earliest centres for cricket and the A Marshall's ground at Broadwater Park staged one county match, when Surrey played Nottinghamshire in 1854. Cricket is still played in the Park today, and a multi-million pound redevelopment is planned to bring the facilities up to an excellent standard.
