BCCI elections

BCCI elections

Politicking, controversies, and drama have been regular features of the Indian board elections – most notably in 2004 and 2005, when Jagmohan Dalmiya and Sharad Pawar went hammer and tongs, each trying to oust the other from the administration. In 2004 Dalmiya's candidate Ranbir Singh Mahendra beat Pawar by one vote. The next year, though, under the supervision of India's Chief Election Commissioner, Pawar beat Dalmiya by a whopping margin.
