TEAMS
Clarence Woolmer played one match for Uttar Pradesh - as captain - in the 1948-49 Ranji Trophy while in India as a manager with British India Corporation. He made 1 and 15 as his side were trounced. "He thought it prudent to concentrate on his business career," his son, Bob, later recalled. He turned out regularly in India for the United Provinces team and Kanpur Cricket Club. When Bob was born in 1948 it was said that Clarence placed a bat and ball in his cot.
