Marquino Mindley

Marquino Mindley walked off with a suspected hamstring injury after bowling just two overs on Test debut. That came three days after arriving in Australia to replace an injured Kemar Roach. Mindley first played for West Indies in December 2022, eight years after making his first-class debut for Jamaica.

Before Mindley first represented Jamaica during the 2014-15 domestic season, he had also played in two Under-19 World Cups in 2012 and 2014. Kraigg Brathwaite, his captain in the 2012 edition, also happened to lead Mindley on his Test debut.

In November 2014, nine months after playing his second Under-19 World Cup, Mindley made his first-class debut for Jamaica. He bagged five wickets in his first game and ended the tournament as the second-highest wicket-taker for Jamaica.

Mindley also played the touring Australian side in a three-day warm-up match in 2015, before two further successful domestic seasons. He switched to Barbados ahead of 2018-19 where he took 20 wickets and was their third-highest wicket-taker that season. But, he returned to Jamaica after just one season away and has been with them since.
