India did not win, it is Bangladesh who lost!
India won the game with team effort and the way pressure was handled ( Lets forget the exact matter that Bangladesh threw the match away)... But being an Indian i dont see this performance as a motivational one to lift the cup...we need the team to start showing what they are on papers...3 more wins and the cup is ours...
having said that all the lapses in batting fielding and bowling in first half of the the innings , it is MSD the coolest captain on the planet earth brought this victory. It is amazing the way he lead his team. From 22 year old Bumrah to veteran Nehra, MS brought everyone into action.Given freedom to express their thinkings,tactics,ideas.. Young Bumrah had a forgetful few minutes early in the innings but MS kept his faith on him and last two overs he produced a match winning performance. The courage he has shown to complete quote of the most experience bowlers like aswin, nehra early and hand last over to pandya is what MSD.Not many captains would have done that. The best captain in limited over cricket by miles MSD... Also my MOM is pandya for his all round performance.. A little cameo with bat, brilliant catch and his match winning last over.......
@Kushal Veeraratne - Well assessed! I too have been an admirer of Sri Lankan cricket team. Lankans play the game with flair. But the team is in a transition due to the retirements of Sanga, Mahela. Angelo seems to have too much on his hands right now.
I like the idea of this page - that is, pictures of how the match panned out. But I dont see any picture of action. All these are 'emotions - after the event'. Seems like a set of pictures taken from the unused /rejected lot of pictures from the camera crew. Even the events chosen also are not of any nice plot of the match. In a nutshell, "good idea, poor execution" - page. Sorry.
None of the 3 recent games between these 2 teams were one sided. India is full of best players in the world. Bangladesh played well. And as long as they keep improving, they will win more and lose less.
Coming from an SL fan : Dhoni's calmness is incomparable even to any of the calmest of captains this game has produced, like, steve waugh, viv richards, Hansie cronje, Ranatunga etc.
The way he said 'Out' after that last ball without too much emotion or spice shows what this man is upto. Fans of other countries (including my fella SL fans) should just admire and enjoy such games, learn the life lesson of composure of players like Dhoni, instead of claiming 'luck' etc.
Finally almost everyone is forgetting the role played by Nehra in this game. He mentored every bowler and also guided Dhoni all the way through and that is why Dhoni respects him so much.
Now its either India or Australia who will win this world cup from here
-Kushal veeraratne
BD forgot how to win games..it couldn't be experience, because they have the experience, However it could be psylogical because india had beaten them recently in the asian series. what an upset that would have been.
Point: before the tournment began and ignoring the golden rule of cricket which says it never is over until the last ball bowl, india was the favourite to win...do you still feel that way?
