TEAMS

A left-arm spinner and handy lower-order bat for Karnataka, J Suchith burst onto the domestic circuit in the 2014-15 season. On his first-class debut in 2015, Suchith played a key role in Karnataka's victory over Bangladesh A. He contributed a useful 41 to Karnataka's first innings total and followed it with 6 for 60 in the second innings. Suchith also emerged as one of Karnataka's standout bowlers in that season's 50-over Vijay Hazare Trophy. In six matches, he took 12 wickets at an average of 13.58 and an economy rate of 3.95.

He was known to fans before his first-class debut, though. He was picked by Mumbai Indians in 2015 and took 10 wickets in 13 matches, but he also proved to be expensive. Later in the year, he also struck a 15-ball fifty in the Karnataka Premier League, the tournament's fastest at that time.
