Mohammad Saifuddin

A pace-bowling allrounder, Mohammad Saifuddin has a bustling action that generates decent speed. He can also tonk the ball hard. However, injuries reduced his opportunities significantly.

Born and raised in Feni in south-east Bangladesh, Saifuddin emerged through the BCB's age-group system, impressing national selectors with his performance in the 2016 Under-19 World Cup, where he took 13 wickets at 14.9 in six matches in the side's run to the semi-final.

But he had to wait to make his international debut after he was called for a suspect action in a club game. After taking corrective measures, he was picked for T20Is against Sri Lanka in April 2017.

He hit an unbeaten 39 off 27 balls in his third T20I, against South Africa in Bloemfontein, but also went for 20 runs in two overs. In the next match, he went for 53 runs in four overs, including five consecutive sixes by David Miller.

Poor returns and a recurring back injury largely kept Saifuddin out of the side, although he did play in the 2019 World Cup, scoring an unbeaten 51 from 38 balls against India and contributed to wins against Australia and West Indies in 2021.

He was overlooked for the 2024 T20 World Cup and took a two-month break from the game, earning a recall in 2025 based on his domestic performances.
