The scoring of points

(a) In all matches points shall be scored as follows:

Outright win after leading on the first innings 8
Outright win after a tie in the first innings 7
Outright win after being behind on the first innings 6
Tie where both teams have completed two innings - irrespective of the first innings result each 3
First innings lead - these points to be retained only if beaten outright or match tied or drawn 2
Draw/tie on first innings & no outright result each 1
Outright loss after leading on the first innings 2
Outright loss after a tie in the first innings 1
Loss on the first innings nil
Outright loss after being behind on the first innings nil
Abandoned match - a match being abandoned without any play having taken place each 1

If no play is possible on the first three scheduled days of any match (excluding the final) then the first innings of each side shall be automatically forfeited and a one innings match (not limited over) will be played. No first innings points shall be scored. The side winning on the one innings will score 4 points; or 2 points each in the case of a tie or draw.
