Scorecard
Baroda Cricket Association XI rounded off a successful tour by thrashing Kenya Elite by an innings and 43 runs in the two-day match played at the Ruaraka Sports Club Ground in Nairobi.
Baroda fast bowler Sagar Mangalorkar ran through Kenya with astonishing figures of 12.4-3-33-9 after Baroda elected to field. Opener Duncan Allan was the only batsman to reach double figures, making 34 with four boundaries, as Kenya folded up for 65 in 25.4 overs.
The Baroda batsmen scored at a brisk pace with opener Anupam Gupta making 87 off 102 deliveries with 14 fours and a six and Jyot Chhaya hammering an unbeaten 67 off 44 with 12 fours and a six. Chhaya's onslaught in particular helped Baroda to declare after racking up 207 for 3 in 40 overs.
Batting for the second time in the day, Kenya made a much better start, finishing the day on 37 without losing a wicket. The openers took the score to 51 on the second morning before Baroda struck. This sparked a collapse as Baroda spinners Utkarsh Patel and Bhargav Bhatt scythed through the line-up. Patel took 5 for 40 while Bhatt took 3 for 11 as Kenya were dismissed for 99 in 41.2 overs. Opener Rikesh Naran top-scored for Kenya, hitting seven boundaries in his 42 off 71 deliveries.
