Well that's it! The first ever super over has ended in a win for the West Indies. Gayle made solid contact with just about everything that came his way dispatching the ball to all areas of the crowd. It was too much to ask for New Zealand who had to push and eventually needed 18 runs of 3 balls.

Benn to Taylor, OUT, flighted in from Benn and Taylor has to go for it. He missed and the ball travels on to middle stump bringing the second wicket. New Zealand all out for 15 and victory to the West Indies.

LRPL Taylor b Benn

Benn to Taylor, (no ball) SIX runs, there's one! waist high full toss from Benn pulled over square leg baseball style from Taylor. No ball so seven runs added and an extra ball. 15/1

3 sixes needed of 3 balls.

Benn to Oram, OUT, He gets too much under the ball this time and doesn't quite connect. The ball sails high to the man underneath it at long-on for simple catch.

JDP Oram c Marshall b Benn

XM Marshall run out

Vettori to Gayle, SIX runs, Hit high and over midwicket and it ends up rows back in the crowd.

Well the light is fading and the floodlights are not working but we will continue with the super overs. Batting for the West Indies is Gayle, Marshall and Chanderpaul and bowling for New Zealand is Vettori.

20 | WI: 155/8 (1 run required, RR: 7.75)

Well what a thrilling finish! West Indies will have feel they could have won the game with Gayle starting off so strong but New Zealand will also feel that they were ahead in the last few overs.

We will now have one super over for each team. 3 batsmen and one bowler are chosen for each team who are bowl one over each on the same pitch with the same ball. West Indies batted second so they will have the first super over. If two wickets fall then the team is out and no more balls will be bowled.

Southee to Benn, 1 run, he gets bat on it and angled away to backward point. Oram jumps on it and hold on to the ball as they sprint one. And that's it the game is tied! We will now have the first ever super over to settle the teams.

2 runs for the win. Only 1 needed for a tie. The tension around the ground is unbearable

Southee to Benn, FOUR runs, fuller and wide delivery which Benn takes a swipe at. It catches a thick outside edge and runs fine away for four! Light at the end of the tunnel for West Indies

6 runs needed off the last 2 balls now. Or 5 runs for a tie

Southee to Taylor, OUT, swing and a miss and they try and run but it's suicide really as McCullum rolls the ball against the stumps

FH Edwards run out (†McCullum) 1 (1m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

Southee to Edwards, 1 run, makes contact and driven through the off-side but picked up a deep cover. Just one and huge cheers from the crowd

7 off 4 now

Southee to Edwards, no run, short of a length and Edwards misses with the pull shot

Fidel Edwards to the crease

Southee to Findlay, OUT, pitched up and going away from the batsmen. He takes a wild swipe at it and the ball just nicks off the toe and McCullum gathers the ball. First blood to the Kiwis

SE Findlay c †McCullum b Southee 19 (31m 17b 2x4 0x6) SR: 111.76
