Dominic Cork belted a six and a four from the only two balls he faced to drive Lancashire to victory over Northamptonshire with two deliveries to spare. Cork and Steve Croft saw the visitors home after Stuart Law's 89 set up the successful chase.
Needing 186 from 32 overs to win, Lancashire appeared to be coasting when Law and Paul Horton (44) built an opening stand of 124. Law's half-century came from 42 balls but the side started to wobble and were 129 for 3 when Alex Wakely removed Brad Hodge and Gareth Cross in his first over.
The loss of Law with 29 still required set up a tight finish. Luke Sutton was run out from the first ball of Jason Brown's final over, before Cork's six over long-on was followed by a four.
The home side had set what looked like a challenging target after Stephen Peters made 54 at the top of the order and Lance Klusener hammered 34 from 26 balls towards the end. Sajid Mahmood was especially costly in the final overs and his last six balls cost 22 as Kluesener and Johan van der Wath belted Northamptonshire to 185 for 6.
