Dhaniram counterattacks before the rain

Sunil Dhaniram's 70 from 90 balls steadied a wobbling Canada reply to Ireland's 326 for 6 on the third day of their Intercontinental Cup match at Dublin. Only 37 overs were possible, however, due to the Malahide mizzle

Day 4

10.40 am Sensible decision from the Umpires play has been called off here, with the wicket very damp after the overnight downpour. Both sides will get three points. Join me, Chris Busby on Tuesday when these sides try again in an ODI at Clontarf.

10.30 am Well a big improvement, the lake has all but relocated off the outfield but unfortunately water has leaked onto the wicket, so the prospect of play looks bleak, I'll let you know when I hear anything

Match State: Stumps - Day 3

5.00 pm Play has indeed been abandoned for the day, and it looks unlikely that we will get enough overs to allow a result tomorrow - as I look out the ground resembles a lake. Join me tomorrow at 10.30am when hopefully we will get some more play

4.45 pm The rain continues to fall and I think we can safely say that will be it for the day, and if it continues to come down like this may affect tomorrows staring time. I expect play will be called off officially in around ten minutes...

4.30 pm Just as we were due to start after tea the skies have opened, the rain is really chucking it down now and I fear that may be it for the day- the sky really is very dark overhead. I'll keep you updated...

So a good fightback from Canada in that session and some lovely batting by Dhaniram. Join us in 20 minutes for the evening session
