UAE pulled off an amazing come-from-behind victory in Windhoek after Namibia had started the final day in control of the match.
Set a tough target of 310, a brisk century from captain Khurram Khan steered them home with only a handful of overs remaining. Khurram was assisted by a whirlwind 35 from Amjad Javed and a run-a-ball 52 from Fayyaz Ahmed. He struck 12 fours and a six in a 144-ball 109 and though he was dismissed with UAE 69 runs short, Fayyaz and Abdul Rehman (30*) finished the job. It was opener Amjad Ali who had set the tone for the chase with a quick 43 putting UAE on their way.
The heroics of the batsmen came after the UAE bowlers had taken the remaining six Namibian wickets in 25.1 overs in the morning. Despite a couple of run-outs, Namibia had moved along to 224 for 5 - an overall lead of 296 - before offspinner Mohammad Tauqir sparked a dramatic collapse. He finished with five wickets as the home side lost their final five for 13 runs, undoing their good work on the first days.
