that's it, it's all over, Hussey plays a half-pull, half-hook to the boundary ... Australia take a 3-0 lead and they won this game at a canter
England vs Australia, 3rd ODI at Southampton, Sep 09 2009 - Ball by Ball Commentary
England huffed and puffed to 228, a total achieved only after their lower order rallied and scored useful runs late in the innings. All of Australia's bowlers took wickets.
Australia, on the other hand, were slow at the start but they didn't lose wickets and moved steadily towards their goal. White's century was supremely compiled and Clarke made a valuable half-century. It was the first successful chase of the series. Australia lead 3-0 with four matches to play. The next game is at Lord's on September 12.
I hope you've enjoyed our coverage today, on behalf of Will Luke, this is George Binoy signing off. That's all folks.
Hussey jumps down the track and chips the ball high in the air over wide mid-on, there's no one there and the ball bounces and rolls slowly towards the boundary, it doesn't get there but the batsmen run four!
Ferguson jumps down the track and dabs to the off side, the batsmen hesitate but then decide to take on the fielder, Bopara misses at the bowler's end with Ferguson at least a foot short
Australia need 8 off the last two overs, Anderson will bowl the penultimate one.

Australia need nine more ...
played off the back foot towards mid-on, Australia can afford dot balls now
Ferguson latches on to the width outside off and cuts hard behind point for another four
sliding down leg again and White flicks firmly towards deep midwicket
Bresnan digs it in short but it's slanting down leg side, no wide called though
there's an appeal for lbw but it's missing leg stump, the batsmen run a leg bye
wide ball outside off stump, poor stuff from Bresnan and Ferguson cashes in, he frees his arms and cuts the ball through the gap at cover point

nudged off the pads for one more
full and straight from Wright, but White moves forward and drives towards cover point
the slower short ball and Ferguson misses the pull, Prior fumbles though and the batsmen steal a bye
