Bangladesh A struggled to make inroads on a dull day at Grace Road as Leicestershire cruised to 354 for 4 by the close.
Winning the toss, all six Leicestershire batsmen made decent starts, but only James Taylor and Jim Allenby went on to pass fifty. Allenby provided the fireworks after a fairly dull first session, cracking an unbeaten 138 off 193 deliveries with 21 fours. Taylor, an 18-year-old in only his second first-class game, stroked 51 in two-and-a-half hours at the crease.
The pair added 101 for the fourth wicket and then Allenby and Tom New punished a tiring attack with a unbeaten fifth-wicket stand of 134.
