Nearly run out but the Sixers win! Pushed to mid on and Henriques is forces to dive but the throw misses
Thunder vs Sixers, 1st Match at Sydney, Dec 20 2016 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Sixers won by 9 wickets (with 12 balls remaining)
Clinical win by the Sixers. They take out the defending champions in game one. Moises Henriques was simply outstanding. He had some luck but he made the most of it. His powerful striking was the difference. Daniel Hughes provided great support. The Thunder were probably 10-20 short with the bat given the way the pitch played in the end.
Moises Henriques has been named Man of the Match for his brilliant 76no off just 41 balls.
Henriques: "Very happy to get the win. It was pretty clinical with the bat.
"I thought the wicket was very good. Not much sideways at all.
"I rode the luck. I obviously got dropped a couple of times and made the most of it in the end.
"Our spinners bowled really well all night. Our quicks came back well at the end.
"I thought our intensity in the field was really good all night."
A good win for the Sixers. They host the Hobart Hurricanes in their second game on Friday night at the SCG.
Game two of BBL 06 is tomorrow night at Adelaide Oval with the Strikers hosting the Brisbane Heat.
We hope you can join us then.
