5:08pm Right. That will be a wrap from us for this game. But in a couple of hours' time, the Sydney Thunder will be taking on the Melbourne Stars in a game that will decide how the top five looks at the end of the group stage. Make sure you join us for that defining contest. Until next time, this is me (Shashwat) signing off on behalf of Chandan and Raghav. Goodbye, and take care!

5:02pm Phew, I might need a few moments to catch my breath. For much of the second half of the run-chase, the Brisbane Heat seemed in control. Peirson was calling the shots and Hain was doing his bit at the other end. But once the pair departed in quick succession, chaos descended and they were left searching for 10 runs off the final over. With the Power Surge on, singles were not on offer either, and the pressure told in the end as Bazley only managed to get a solitary boundary away in the final over, which was expertly bowled by David.

The result means that the Hurricanes are still alive in the tournament, although they still require the Melbourne Stars to do them a favour. To their credit, they have held up their end of the bargain and have done so by producing a superb bowling display. They kept chipping away, kept themselves in the game and when it mattered, held their nerve a lot better than the Brisbane Heat.

David to Bazley, 1 run

Hurricanes stay alive! Oh my word! This is as close to a cricketing miracle as any! Another brilliant yorker at the stumps and Bazley can't get under it. He can only skew it off the toe-end into the on side and pick up a single. The Hurricanes are over the moon; Brisbane Heat, not quite. They have let go of a very winning position, and this keeps the Hurricanes well and truly in the qualification mix!

4 needed off 1 now

David to Bazley, no run

full toss outside off stump. Bazley backs away and in the end, is too far away to make contact. Swing and a miss

David to Bazley, SIX runs

six, and is that a No ball too? High full toss on off stump, and that is just what Bazley is waiting for! He opens up his stance and clatters it over deep mid wicket

10 off 3 now. And the Hurricanes are favourites to win this now, surely?

David to Bazley, OUT

but it only leads to Kuhnemann getting run out! Full and outside off stump. Bazley chunks it back to David, who sprawls to his left, gathers it and then throws down the stumps, with Kuhnemann well short of his ground

Matthew Kuhnemann run out (David) 0 (4b 0x4 0x6 8m) SR: 0

Kuhnemann has a chat with Bazley

David to Bazley, no run

another top yorker just outside off stump. Bazley swings and squirts it back to the keeper

10 off 5

David to Bazley, no run

yorker on off stump. Bazley drills it down the ground and then sends his partner back, who has hared half-way down the track

So, it has come down to this. Six balls to be bowled by David, and 10 runs needed for the Heat to knock the Hurricanes out. Who are you backing?

10 off 9 now, and Brisbane are feeling the heat

back of a length delivery outside off stump. Kuhnemann gets up on his toes and dabs it down to short third man

Kuhnemann is the new batter at the crease

Paris to Neser, OUT

chops it on! Banged into the track outside off stump. Neser looks to tonk it into next week but in that pursuit, loses his shape completely. He tugs at it and ends up chopping it back onto leg stump! This game just keeps getting more interesting!

Michael Neser b Paris 3 (5b 0x4 0x6 11m) SR: 60
Paris to Neser, 2 runs

back of a length delivery on leg stump. Neser gets up on his toes and turns it behind square, and more importantly, past short fine leg for a brace

Right. The Power Surge is finally here. 12 needed off 12 and Paris to bowl the penultimate over. This could be the game here

Bazley makes his way out to the middle. No pressure!

Ellis to Peirson, OUT

taken at short mid wicket superbly! Oh my, this is not over yet! Full delivery just outside off stump. Peirson plants his front foot and clips it powerfully. The only problem, though, is that he hits it close enough to Crawley, who flies to his left and snaffles up a tough chance!
