drills it through cover and breaks into a jig. Trinbago made work out of this, but it's still a big win. Tossed up at off and Bravo hammers it inside-out through cover
Tridents vs Trinbago, 18th Match at Bridgetown, Aug 26 2018 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Trinbago won by 4 wickets (with 21 balls remaining)
9:33pm And that is all from our coverage tonight. Thanks for joining and we'll see you soon.
Jason Holder: We were 30-40 runs short. This pitch is a little difficult to start on, every pitch becomes easier when you spend time on it and we didn't. It was a tough call (dropping Guptill) because in four games we haven't capitalised in the Powerplay, so we wanted to give someone else a chance. Time to go back to the drawing board. I think all stats will show you don't win if you lose three wickets in the Powerplay. We've got stay calm. We still have five games. We can't look too far ahead. We have to focus on our three home games. No need to panic, there's still a lot of cricket left.
Dwayne Bravo: Great feeling, always a great feeling to win a cricket game. Two points is always good. Happy with the entire performance, to restrict a very good batting line up 12 after they elect to bat. Good to have a good left-arm orthodox spinner, a good off spinner and a good leg spinner. We base our team on allrounders and spinners.
Brendon McCullum: Was't very comfortable on this wicket and a few demons from last year when I broke my arm here. Hard wicket to get singles, had to stay strong and hit down the ground. Their bowling line-up with their big tall fast bowlers, was tough to adjust to on this pitch. But with low totals, it's all about partnerships. On a wicket like this I wanted to start of batting on leg so that I had room outside off for the cut, and later on I started jumping into the off side.
Brendon McCullum is the Man of the Match.
9:13pm Trinbago race to the top of the table. Can't help but think that this result was made with one over, the second of the game from Pierre, where three wickets fell. Tridetns continue to be sloppy, both with the bat and in the field, and their strategy is posing more questions than answers every day. Just like yesterday, they had the opposition flattened, before throwing it away with sloppy work in the field. McCullum went berserk with a 42-ball 66 but barely had support at the other end. It wasn't to be a problem with a target of only 129.
short of a length on leg, flicked to short fine
well, it's two in two and Smith has an impeccable record again. Lobs this up at off stump, McCullum looks for the big sweep, slices it into the mid-off region and Smith runs backwards to take it
taken at deep midwicket. Ramdin looks for the flashy finish but he's lofted this full ball on the pads straight to Wahab Riaz in the deep
one hit away from a win. Springer's had an evening to forget. Dropped short, harmless pace outside off. Stays tall and slaps it wide of mid-on
length and in at leg stump, flicked to deep backward square
length outside off, steps out and slices to sweeper cover
another short ball, in at the body. Stays back and slaps it between deep square and deep midwicket
welcomed with brutality. Drops it short outside off and McCullum skips down the track and thumps this flat over the extra cover boundary
Springer
overpitched and down leg side. Cops it on the pads as he looks to flick
full on middle, shuffles and flicks to long-on
short of a length ball into the body as he can't connect on the heave
full and wide outside off. Throws his hands at it and it rolls back down the pitch off the toe-end
full and into the pads, can't get bat as he looks to flick
beaten and as he runs down at a short ball. Past his pull and over the stumps
length on leg stump, flicked to deep square's left
bunts it back towards the bowler off the toe-end. Runs down at a short ball and is forced into that shot. Riaz can't hold on though and it's a single at long-on
fifty and so easily put away. Length ball outside off, lets it go across him and uses quick hands to scythe from under this and get it over point
misfield and four more. Patently decided not to get away from any more short balls. Shuffles to get in line and hammers this hook at Springer, who over-runs it at deep square and lets it through
past short fine. Stays on his feet this time. Short ball on the hips, gets on top, turns it past Irfan who takes time getting down at this to his right
