slower bouncer again, pulls this to deep square leg. Reifer charges in from the rope and takes a diving catch off the final ball to give captain Powell a wicket to end the match. Tallawahs win by 37 runs and move into the 2022 CPL Final!
Tallawahs vs Amazon, Qualifier 2 at Providence, CPL, Sep 28 2022 - Match Result
10.56 pm Well, there were a lot of people scratching their heads at the toss when Shimron Hetmyer decided to field first. Nothing much that happened in the course of this match changed that sentiment. But the Amazon Warriors didn't do themselves any favors with some terribly sloppy fielding, most notably an edge behind dropped when centurion Shamarh Brooks was on 5. It means the perennial bridesmaids Amazon Warriors don't even get to the final this year. Instead it will be the Tallawahs and Royals going for the title two nights from now.
Shamarh Brooks is the Player of the Match: "My second year with the franchise. Coming in last year as a replacement and Jamaica gave me a chance to show my skills in this format. I love this franchise. I'm just happy that we're in the final. There's one more hurdle for us to cross but I'm just enjoying the year, taking it stride by stride. I'm happy to be playing against a franchise that I played with before. I have a few friends in the team and am looking forward to it. I'm very happy with the team's performance. They had to come hard at us but we stuck to the plan. Amir had a groin injury but other guys stepped up."
That's it for tonight's coverage. Come back on Friday for the 2022 CPL Final between the Tallawahs and the Royals. Until then, I'm Peter Della Penna. Take care!

Rovman to bowl the last over, around the stumps.
50 off 6 balls. You never know. We could see another 14 wides...
length ball swatted to long-on for one.
fullish length on fifth stump, another big heave produces a stiff breeze heading toward long-on.
big heave to a slower length ball, way out in front and misses everything. An expletive echoes through the stump mic....
All he needs is 9 more off the final 9 balls.
goes for yorker and gets the length wrong on fourth stump, smashes a half-volley over long-on for six.
full on fourth stump, driven to long-off and they turn down the single.
full toss on the hips, whipped behind square for a boundary. Lucky it didn't got for six over backward square.
now a wide yorker speared down leg. This is getting absurd...
Afeef: "Tough to comprehend the logic behind not sending Odean Smith earlier" There's a lot of stuff not making any sense tonight, like bowling three consecutive wides when a team needs 65 off 12 legal balls.
short and wide again, left alone, wide again.
short and wide, carbon copy sequence left alone and wide called again.
short and way outside off, left alone and wide called.
Just a cool 65 needed off 12 balls. Still mathematically possible. You never know..
short on the legs, flicks a pull over backward square leg to the rope.
full toss wide outside off, wide again.
too wide outside off. Wide called.
