Lee finally gets a wicket which means he's taken a wicket in all international matches this summer. Sangakkara backs away to try to drive to mid-off and is bowled by a swinging yorker which clinks into leg
Australia vs Sri Lanka, 6th Match at Perth, Feb 15 2008 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Australia, then, ease to the top of the table after their bowlers proved too much for Sri Lanka's batting line-up, with even Sangakkara finding the pressure too great having made 80.
Gilchrist takes the applause from the crowd who are all on their feet to celebrate his dinal international match at the ground he made his home. What a way to finish, with his 16th ODI ton.
Jayawardene is paying tribute to Gilchrist. "He batted really well, credit to him. Quite a few occasions he's been a menace. He's one of those players that you probably want to see the back of pretty quickly. He batted really well, credit to him.
"Kumar batted really well. The bowlers did well, too. It's a tough tournament, you have to be ready for the next game."
Here's Ponting: "Our bowlers were terrific again. Gilly obviously played beautifully today, the rest of us have got a bit of work to do with the bat. I sent a couple of messages out to him to make sure he was there at the end of the innings."
Gilchrist is the man of the match, unsurprisingly. "It is amazing. Look, it's been a great journey. A few trials, tribulations, but it's just been wonderful. I want to say thank you for the WACA crowd.
"I must acknowledge I really felt it [pressure] more than any other game. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. There's some big games coming up."
Huge rapturous applause now for Gilchrist who deserves each and every cheer. Great way to sign off at the WACA.
Thanks for joining me today, do tune in again on Sunday for more from the CB Series.
driven out to wide mid-off now
follows him down off, Sangakkara looks to try to work it to midwicket
Good spell from Johnson, he's damaged Sri Lanka all right
and that's the one he's been seeking, gets it on target at last and Malinga is comprehensively bowled as he backs away and exposes his stumps
full one, towards leg this time - but now it's too much down leg
more of the same, you sense that all he has to do is land it on the stumps and he will bowl him
boomeranged back in from outside off, the batsman backs away as is customary this innings, but he's just too wide outside off
big swing in to the left hander who drives out on the leg-side and they settle for one after Malinga sent Sangakkara back
outside off, driven back to mid-off
pitches on off and moves away from him, the wrong'un once more
paddled round in front of midwicket where Haddin tidies up inside the rope, but his hand connects with the rope at the same time
picks the wrong'un this time but that's still little help as the ball pitches past him
down the track and drives out to mid-on
the wrong'un's not picked this time
driven out to the covers
again, another play and miss
round the wicket, it shapes away just at the last moment, too good for the retreating Malinga
pushed across the right hander again and he backs away once more
outside off, and Malinga backs away to try to open up the off-side and doesn't connect - in fact, he's nowhere near connecting
on off, played down off the back foot to mid-off
Australia can get a bonus point if they get Sri Lanka all out for 188
swings back in to the right hander, who drives out in front of short midwicket
Here comes Johnson
