6.6 to ST Jayasuriya, got him! A fine piece of bowling - the slower ball which Jayasuriya misread and attempted to chip over mid-off. Pietersen nearly made a complete cabbage of it, but took it face height at the second attempt. 16/2 10.2 to DPMD Jayawardene, another one bites the dust! Banged in short, Jayawardene slashed hard outside off stump, but he got a fraction underneath the ball, and Stuart Broad at third man took a fine and fast catch. Problems mounting for Sri Lanka. 20/3 46.2 to TM Dilshan, full length, nearly a yorker, and that's the end of that. Dilshan went to mow a meadow, missed, and was bowled through his legs. Still, a useful little cameo. 190/7

3.6 to WU Tharanga, gone! Reward for Sidebottom's excellent control this morning as he finds another away-swinger which leaves Tharanga at the very last moment, handing first slip a comfortable catch at waist height. 7/1 47.4 to WPUJC Vaas, a low inswinging full-toss, and Sidebottom strikes! That was an attempted yorker, overpitched and Vaas was onto it in a flash. But Pietersen at short midwicket had no need to move, and toppled over backwards as the ball thudded into his chest. 195/8 49.1 to J Mubarak, good bowling. A well-directed yorker, Mubarak stepped across to use the pace and sweep through fine leg, but he missed it entirely and lost his middle stump. 206/9
10 | 0 | 54 | 2 | 5.40 | 23 | 3 | 0 | 1 | 0 | |
39.4 to LPC Silva, a wide bouncer and Silva uppercuts this down to third man. Bopara runs six or seven metres around the boundary to take an excellent running catch at a comfortable height. 146/4 41.4 to KC Sangakkara, short again, and pulled straight down the throat of deep square leg! That was a sucker punch - it was nothing more than a leg-stump long-hop, and could have done anywhere. Broad looks suitably sheepish, but that's a big wicket for England. 158/5
6 | 0 | 28 | 1 | 4.66 | 17 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
42.6 to KS Lokuarachchi, perfect line and length, noticeably quicker as well, and Lokuarachchi was beaten all ends up as he aimed a flick to leg. Well bowled, and the umpire's finger was up with Shakoor Rana-esque speed. That was plumb. 166/6

5.5 to P Mustard, slower, fuller and straighter, Mustard drives the ball right back to Malinga and the catch is at a perfect height ... no mistake there. 30/1 45.4 to OA Shah, no slower-ball this time: that was Malinga at pace, reversing it back into Shah who was comprehensively beaten and his stumps flayed. 208/5

42.4 to AN Cook, bowled him! Cook is furious with himself. Short of a length outside his off stump, Cook tries to cut this but it's too short and he chops it on. He swings his bat in utter disbelief. 194/3 42.5 to PD Collingwood, got him! Two in two for Fernando as Collingwood is trapped dead in front, and up goes the finger. 194/4

19.6 to IR Bell, soft shot. He attempted to pull it but got a top-edge straight to Malinga at mid-off. An absolute waste of his wicket and he's rightly furious. 84/2
