Aiden Blizzard and Andrew Ellis led Canterbury to an eight-wicket win over Northern Districts in Hamilton. Northern Districts were kept to 146 for 7 after choosing to bat as Ellis took 4 for 28. Blizzard finished off the chase with his unbeaten 69 off 42 deliveries.

Northern Districts began brightly with an 86-run stand inside 12 overs between Anton Devcich (24) and Daniel Flynn. However, none of the batsmen after the opening pair managed more than 14. Flynn was the sixth man to fall, for 86 off 67, in the last over of the innings. Flynn struck eight fours and two sixes.

Ronnie Hira got Canterbury's chase going with a quick 20 before Blizzard took control. The Australian hit four fours and five sixes and put on 80 for the second wicket with Neil Broom (37). Captain Peter Fulton chipped in with an unbeaten 17 off 9 as Canterbury pocketed four points.
