low full toss and Kuggeleijn smokes this straight back over the bowlers' head to ice the game. That's an amazing innings from the man who bowled the final over to win the game for the Knights last night!
Otago vs Northern Dis, Final at Hamilton, Jan 18 2014 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Northern Dis won by 5 wickets (with 6 balls remaining)
What a wonderful finale to the 2013/14 HRV Cup as the Knights prevail by 5 wickets with an over to spare.
Neil Broom and Ryan ten Doeschate set up the Volts' first innings total with a couple of useful innings but it was the bowling of most of the Knights' attack which kept the total down to just 143.
Scott Styris conceded just 16 runs from his four overs, to go with the wicket of the dangerman, ten Doeschate.
At 24 for three, the Knights were wobbling in reply but a calm Daryl Mitchell was joined by BJ Watling and the pair resurrected the innings with a 57-run partnership to put them back on track.
Watling eventually fell for 37 off 30 balls and while Duffy and McMillan did a fine job with the ball to continue pegging the Knights back, Mitchell and Scott Kuggeleijn were too good in the end.
Mitchell completed a dream HRV Cup with an unbeaten 46 off 42 balls, while it was the unlikely batting hero in Kuggeleijn who provided some crucial blows to get his team over the line. Kuggeleijn struck 22 off seven balls with one four and two maximums.
