yorker again, on middle and leg, Rasel works it to midwicket for one, Sri Lanka end up victors by 37 runs, a good win for them in the opening qualifying match
Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh, 1st Qualifying Match at Mohali, Oct 07 2006 - Ball by Ball Commentary
So, after Sri Lanka racked up 302, thanks to a fine fifth ODI hundred from Upul Tharanga, Bangladesh were always going to be under the gun. It was heartening to see that they didn't give in easily, though. They lost some early wickets, then Aftab Ahmed took the attack back to them but couldnt curb his enthusiasm. Saqibul Hasan hung around for a maiden ODI fifty, an unbeaten 67, but he was sluggish and couldnt really for the pace. In the end, Sri Lanka's spinners and medium pacers did a good job to restrict Bangladesh to 265.

one ball to go....
strives for that yorker, not done too well, a low full toss outside off that Rasel fails to get a bat on
Last man, Syed Rasel, comes in
leg stump is flattened this time! Fires one in on leg, a yorker again, Razzak once more gets cheeky and walks across his stumps, fails to make contact this tump and Maharoof cleans up his leg stump, one wicket to go now!
slower ball, not as full either, Razzak goes for some sort of dandy swipe in the air down to long-on, ball falls short though
41 from 4...
superb shot! Full in the zone again, he takes it on the full and smokes that dead straight down the ground with some power, four runs
full in the zone, dug out back to the bowler who threatens to have a throw back, doesnt gather it as he does so
46 runs needed...its going to be Maharoof to do duty
One over to go
this time he makes room to crash that through the off side, but the balls too slow and all he can do is keep it out to cover
and again he unleashes that cheeky step across the stumps and turns a full toss past square leg for four, ooooh!
slower ball, in the zone, he goes for the slog, gets it down to long-on
identical ball and Saqibul drives that wide of mid-on this time
fired in the blockhole, Razzak drives to mid-on, thats the 250 up
drifts onto middle and leg, he moves across and cheekily paddles that around the corner for four, good shot
Last over for Vaas
shot! Short and wide, Saqibul stands tall and cuts in the air past Dilshan at point, ball fairly speeds away for four
good length ball on middle stump, hustles to defend, works that to the onside, Malinga does the fielding himself, gets to it but ends up kicking it away, allows the run
drifts to leg stump, he stands tall and turns that in front of square leg, calls for the run
fuller again, he exposes all the stumps and drives that in the gap at cover, Vaas covers good ground and fields
fires in the yorker, well dug out in the end
a good length on middle and off, chipped over Jayasuriya at deep extra cover
Ball change now. Here comes Billy Bowden, recently married, with a box of assorted balls. He's smiling as he runs onto the ground. "Anyone for some balls?" The umpires inspect them, feel them, pick one and say thanks. Bye, Billy. There he goes.
shorter and its hit across the line, he's mistimed it but will get one down to long-on
in the blockhole again, he frees his arms and slams that down the ground, Maharoof moves across from long-off, slides, and saves four
