Scorecard and ball-by-ball details
Mohammad Nabi ran through the Namibia line-up with a six-wicket haul and Nawroz Mangal's unbeaten fifty tightened Afghanistan's grip on the opening day in Windhoek. Barring Stephan Baard's 72 at No 3, no Namibia batsman was able to score more than 30 as the hosts were dismissed for 190 in the 65th over.
Namibia began well after winning the toss, Xander Pitchers and Pikky Ya France putting on 49 for the first wicket. Pitchers was the first to go, caught behind off Shapoor Zadran. Nabi took over after that, sending back Ya France and Craig Williams. Sarel Burger, the home captain, fell for a duck to Rahmat Shah as Namibia slipped to 65 for 4. Baard steered the innings past 100 but Nabi removed him in the 48th over and it was down Bernard Scholtz to push Namibia close to 200. Nabi finished with 6 for 33, his maiden five-for in all formats.
Afghanistan crawled to 62 for 1 in 29 overs, opener Shabir Noori taking 89 balls for his 8 before going leg-before to Burger. Mangal did most of the scoring, hitting eight boundaries in his unbeaten 51.
