West Indies win this match at last - and are into the Super Eights - with a victory that was inevitable as soon as they Zimbabwe three down really early on. What was surprising was the hard work they made of the victory in the end, Zimbabwe just about making it over 200 and then West Indies taking their time to get to their victory which was, at least, always expected. "It's good to get it over with," says Chris Gayle after the match, who chuckles when asked if he had Herschelle Gibbs's six sixes in mind as he sent the first three balls of one over into orbit.

Thanks for joining us today and do come back tomorrow when Scotland will be taking on South Africa, while Kenya face New Zealand.

Chigumbura to Lara, SIX runs

great way to finish with a beautiful aerial drive over midwicket, these last two shots being a treat for the fans who, with the exception of Gayle, too, have had few moments of pure entertainment

Chigumbura to Lara, FOUR runs

lovely high backlift brought down like an inevitable guillotine with a lovely cover drive

47.3
Chigumbura to Lara, no run

straight up there and that's defended with a very straight bat

47.2
Chigumbura to Lara, no run

a sliver of width outside off and that's worked straight to the man at cover with one bounce

47.1
Chigumbura to Lara, no run

across Lara and he fends it down off the back foot

West Indies verging on the win, but the batting hasn't been that brilliant this innings, in truth

46.6
Mpofu to Dwayne Bravo, no run

oh, nearly gets his man there with a prod over the ball

Mpofu to Dwayne Bravo, FOUR runs

he was going to flash and he flashed hard - and that's a wild edge that flies behind, very fine, and the ball flies up and on its way to the boundary

Mpofu to Lara, 1 run

played to wide mid-on

2
Mpofu to Lara, 2 runs

wide of the man Sibanda at gully and Matsikenyeri does very well, once more, in the deep - he's fielded so well today

46.2
Mpofu to Lara, no run

another play and miss from Lara, slashing wildly with an airy cover drive, but undone by the lack of bounce on that occasion

46.1
Mpofu to Lara, no run

a tidy piece of fielding at backward point, taking the non-striker's stumps with a direct hit, but the batsman was well in

Earlier in the day, when Zimbabwe were 31 for 3, nobody was expecting that the game would be taken right towards the final overs - not in competitive terms, mind
