and that will be the game. Marsh takes the final wicket. 18 in succession at home for Australia. Full delivery outside off, a thick outside edge is easily taken by Wade. Australia go 4-0 up.
Australia vs India, 4th ODI at Canberra, Jan 20 2016 - Ball by Ball Commentary
10.10pm This has been some match. This has been some turnaround from Australia. Australia go 4-0 up and extend their home streak to 18 ODIs. But that will not be the story of the day. India were cruising the chase with such ease that it looked like Australia had almost given up before Dhawan had cut a ball to Bailey at point. Ever since, it was all Australia. India failed to win an over as they stumbled and staggered to an unbelievable 25-run loss. A lot of credit has to be given to Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli though, who made run-making look ridiculously simple. Splendid centuries but a real shame they could not carry on to take India home.
MS Dhoni: "Im not angry, I'm disappointed. This was one game we should have batted much better. I'll take responsibility, I should have carried on but I got out.. There was a bit of pressure on the youngsters. International cricket is all about pressure, you think about the right shot. You realise you have to take a bit more time and take the game slightly to the end. Rohit batted very well with Shikhar. And Dhawan and Kohli batted majestically. In the last five years, we have not had a fixed bowling line up other than the spinners. That pushes us to the extreme to get some extra runs.
Kane Richardson is the Man of the Match: "It's a funny old game, cricket. We always knew it would speed up once we got a wicket but we did not get it. Hastings could be up here as well. You try and bowl good balls but sometimes they go for sixes. Its our job to try and stop em.
Steven Smith: "It looked like they were cruising, a coupe, of wickets swing things. Richardson did very well as well. You have to try everything when Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan were batting, it felt like we needed 15 or 16 fielders. We had a never say die attitude tonight. When we had a sniff, we made a run for it.
full and wide outside off, Ishant beaten
Marsh to finish
another slower ball outside off, the legcutter spins away from Jadeja and he is beaten. Ishant comes down but is sent back.
another slower legcutter that bounces extra outside off, Jadeja cannot get bat on it again
slower back of the hand legcutter outside off, Jadeja misses
wide yorker outside off, Jadeja gets some bat on his late deflection and the ball goes for four to third man
nudged to long-on for two. Played that with soft hands and was able to get back. Good batting that.
very wide outside off. Wide this time
full yorker outside off, smeared back
full and wide, left alone. Six events in that over
fullish on off, played down to the keeper
this time, Bailey intervenes and takes it. Fuller length on off, Yadav is not changing his technique, another wild slog. the ball goes up again, but nowhere near enough distance. Bailey, from point, has a look at Smith and then settles under it to pouch it.
another drop. Wade has spilled another chance. Short outside off, Jadeja goes for a the cut but gets a thick outside edge, Wade leaps up high and drops yet another
Richardson drops a sitter. Should have been taken that. Full delivery and Yadav goes for another of his slogs. This one goes straight up. Richardson runs in from long-off and spills a relatively easy chance.
Rama: "the fall of dominoes! what a meltdown.. from majestic batting to downright medocrity.."
full and wide outside off, another slog. Another miss
Mitchell Marsh pulls up just before delivery stride and clutches his hamstring immediately. Is he cramping? He is in terrible pain at the moment. Seems to be a bit of cramp, because he is hanging around. Plenty of fluids being consumed. He is going to continue.
finally he gets bat on it, but all he will do is get one. Things just not happening for India. Slogged to deep midwicket
full on off, driven back to the bowler
Vivek : "This is called catastrophic breakdown of Indian Batting Lineup..."
length outside off, Yadav is beaten
this is not clever slogging from Yadav. Doesn't keep his shape, or his eyes on the ball. Just goes after an almighty swing. Missed
shaneoh: "This is one of the most astonishing collapses I've ever seen. Should have been a reasonably easy win for India here."
length delivery on leg, Yadav is hustled for pace and is struck on the pad high up
Keith: "From coasting to drowning."
length on off, pushed towards cover for a run
