that shall do it, Raina receives the last gift for today on the pad, works it wide of fine leg, who cannot stop it and India have won the series before heading to Bulawayo
Zimbabwe vs India, 3rd ODI at Harare, Jul 28 2013 - Ball by Ball Commentary
That is all for the Harare leg of the series. And that is all from me, Abhishek Purohit, and Vishal Dixit. Cheers
Amit Mishra is the Man of the Match. Mishra: "Always speak to my bowling coaches and they tell me to go for wickets, and not worry about runs. Whenever you take wickets, it puts pressure. Have worked hard on the googly, with Joe Dawes, and lots of talking on it as well. There are a lot of upcoming players in the side and there is healthy competition."
Virat Kohli: "Was important to win to seal the series. Early breakthroughs with the ball, and not that difficult a total to chase down. We are not setting any goals, did not think we had to seal the series today. Zimbabwe still have some inexperience in the line-up and it is about gaining experience. I am one of the few experienced guys in this side and I am trying to take responsibility. Their bowlers have bowled in good areas, they know how to bowl on these wickets, they are using the two new balls well. Our fast bowlers can learn from them."
Brendan Taylor: "Getting quite frustrating now, leading up to the series the amount of work we put in, that not translating into results, and knowing the ability of the players, is irritating. There is still lot to play for in Bulawayo. Generally soft dismissals, guys need to toughen up mentally. Chinouya has been knocking on the door for ages."
No contest again from Zimbabwe. They can say they lost the crucial toss in Harare twice, but the one time they won it, it was also a big defeat. Today, they lost their openers to atrocious shots within the first seven deliveries, and that was the early beginning of the end. The only thing left for India to achieve in Bulawayo is to try out those on the bench
Virat Kohli has a stump in hand as he walks back, first full series for him as India captain and he's won 3-0 with two games to go. A century, an unbeaten fifty, the run-machine working fine.
swats a shortish one off the pad behind square leg, fielder runs around quickly and keeps them to one
short, too short, well outside off, Kohli pulls bat away
backs away to leg, bowler follows him, Kohli works it behind square
full toss again, a high one this time, Raina swats it through square leg, there is a man in the deep
a low full toss down the pad, and Raina gets enough on it, wide of short fine
leans forward outside off stump but gets too close to the pitch and digs it back to the bowler, some late inswing there for Vitori
walks out, but it is too full and he ends up toe-ending it through extra cover
this is not that short really, but Kohli is in the mood to end matters now, whacks it over midwicket dismissively
Jajoo: "I see Ponting's career imprints all over Kohli's career."
angled in, worked to fine leg
Chinouya has been the quickest and sharpest of the Zim bowlers today, he bothered Kohli initially, but now the captain charges out and lofts him cleanly over wide long off, super timing once more
his front leg is way across and this ball is full and angled into the stumps, but he has no trouble in bringing bat around and tucking it square
Pawan: "Considering Raj Menon's comment I guess the team management's decision of winning the series first and then (hopefully) experimenting with the players is the decision most likely to keep the fans happy."
pushes a back of a length ball down the track
turned to midwicket with the inward angle
Kohli reaches one more ODI fifty with a superbly-placed drive off the front foot, splits the gap between mid off and extra cover
leans forward and turns a pitched up ball off the pad to deep square leg, Zimbabwe have bowled too often in that area today
Prabbu Raj Menon: "It is very difficult to satisfy Indians including me. If youngsters are not given a chance ,team management is blamed. If youngsters are given a chance and India loses , even then the same people who wanted youngsters in team will blame the team management."
Ankit: "Way more couch analyzers here (including myself) than necessary or needed. Give it a rest guys."
a high full toss into the body, Raina manages to nudge it square, exchanges friendly pats on the back with the bowler as he trots to the other end
Vitori tries the yorker, it is right on the stumps, but Raina has moved across and managed to get some bat on it, just in time
Raina targets midwicket, front foot across and picks it from off stump high over midwicket, it rolls over into the boundary
nice, he's remained in the crease to a short of a length ball and dabbed it to third man
steps across to off and pushes to covers
shot, he's walked out and slammed this to mid off, so hard it';s burst out of the fielder's hands
