short, cut through the off side and there's victory for Ilford CC!
Ilford Town vs Ilford, 2nd Match at Ilford, Jul 29 2018 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Ilford won by 6 wickets (with 7 balls remaining)
Ilford CC win by six wickets and it was a very well managed run chase. Despite losing a wicket first ball they always felt in control. Mohammed Akthar rapid innings put them on course and the required rate rarely touched seven an over. Given the weather this morning it's been a super effort to get a game. Credit to everyone for pulling it together and playing through some pretty heavy showers along the way. From Miller, Gnasher and Justin it's goodbye and thanks for joining us today for Natwest #Noboundaries
back and across, defends
just over mid-off! He used his feet, played the lofted drive and it had the legs to clear a leaping fielder who had been brought up
drags this short, pulled wide of square leg and they don't risk a third...there's no need, really
driven to cover
More men inside the circle now...trying to create some pressure
full toss outside off, calmly driven to deep cover
gets some fortune here as he swipes to the leg side again, takes a bottom edge past the stumps to fine leg
fetches this from full outside off and swings it with plenty of bottom hand towards long-on...good running
very full outside off, he opens the face and steers to backward point who makes a good save
speared down the leg side, another wide
a full toss which is shoveled through the leg side, wide of deep square so an easy couple
well bowled, full and straight, nudged back to the bowler
gets forward and defends a good length delivery. They just need to stay calm to see out the chase
moves well across his stumps to the off side and then works this to midwicket
lots of air, a low full toss in the end, pushed down the ground to long-off
direct hit! He came down the pitch and picked out midwicket, basically ran on the shot. A good pick-up and throw. Didn't even need the wicketkeeper
heaved with a slog sweep, in the air over midwicket to the man in the deep
appeal for lbw as he works across the line, must have been an inside edge because that looked straight
beats the top edge as he aims to play this one squarer through the off side
a crisp drive over the covers, wide of the sweeper
