all over! Finishes it with a leg stump yorker. Terrific delivery to complete an impressive bowling display
NOTTS vs Hampshire, 2nd Semi-Final at Birmingham, Sep 02 2017 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Nottinghamshire win by 23 balls and are in their first T20 final since 2006. Pace off the ball key throughout the match, but where it was legspin for Hampshire it was Notts' slower balls and cutters from Steven Mullaney and latterly Harry Gurney which made the difference. Samit Patel struck first ball to remove Shahid Afridi, but while James Vince was going Hampshire were in control. However, Mullaney changed the game and in the end it was comfortable for Notts. So it's Nottinghamshire v Birmingham in the final. We'll be back with you at 6.15pm for that...see you soon!
length ball outside off, pushed to short third man
a slower ball dragged down, he has to wait an age for it then pulls to deep square leg
goes across his stumps to try and scoop a length delivery from outside off...misses
full and straight, a complete over of slower deliveries, flicked behind square on the leg side
Gurney gets something in his eye and has to abort his run-up
this one is pushed down the leg side
full and straight, tapped into the leg side
Can Gurney finish it with a hat-trick?
and another! This is brilliant from Gurney. He's confounding them with the back-of-the-hand slower balls, this one is popped in the air into the off side and Christian runs round from cover
Wessels at long-on again! Nottinghamshire closing in. It's the slower balls from Gurney, not pace to work with, lofts down the ground and the fielder didn't have to move
huge appeal for caught behind! It was another slower ball, Berg through his shot as he flicks to the leg side. Takes the back pad
finds long-on! Over the wicket, a back-of-the-hand slower ball full at the stumps, Dawson opts to try and clear the leg side but doesn't get it far enough
Gurney, the left-armer, back for the death
starts by shuffling across to off stump, then steps outside leg, gets an outside edge on a full delivery which beats short third man...crucial end to the over for Hampshire
low full toss, on the pads, flicked through midwicket
follows him as he moves outside leg, spears into the pads at bobbles to the off side
Martin Mulkearn: "Gnasher, anybody at the ground today? What's it looking like for the evening?" All looking good
goes full at leg stump, dug out square through the off side through backward point...Hales on the boundary can stop the second
over backward point! Moving outside leg stump, it's full outside off, gets a good piece of it as he slices it with an open face and it's inches short of six
full outside off, gives himself a touch of room and drives wide of cover
Here's Jake Ball
works a straight delivery along the ground to deep midwicket. Good over from Sodhi.
nearly beaten by the length, started to use his feet but it was shorter, pushed to point
cut away from off stump, excellent fielding by Taylor at point
