TOTAL50 Ov (RR: 4.84, 223 Mins)242/9
Fall of wickets: 1-0 (Martin Guptill, 0.2 ov), 2-120 (Tom Latham, 20.3 ov), 3-158 (Ross Taylor, 30.6 ov), 4-204 (Corey Anderson, 40.5 ov), 5-213 (Kane Williamson, 42.4 ov), 6-216 (Luke Ronchi, 43.3 ov), 7-224 (Anton Devcich, 45.1 ov), 8-225 (Tim Southee, 45.5 ov), 9-237 (Matt Henry, 49.2 ov)
0.2 to MJ Guptill, unplayable! Guptill could do nothing about that. A quick bowler's delight. Fuller than a good length - quite the ideal length. Guptill prods, played the line, didn't account for swing. Umesh got it to move away just enough, like the previous delivery, to beat Guptill's outside edge. Clatters into off stump. Not sure if that was bad batting or just sensational bowling. He did see a bit of swing off the previous delivery. Anyway, Guptill has failed again.. 0/1
45.1 to AP Devcich, a one-handed screamer from Axar. Not a great catch just because it was with one hand. A slower ball from Bumrah, Devich gets across and paddles him over short fine leg. or that's what it looks like. Axar keeps his eyes on the ball even as the ball seems to evade him, but he stick out his right hand (his non-dominant) and clings on. NZ sink deeper. 224/7
45.5 to TG Southee, and gets him this time with an even better yorker. The first one was slightly leg side-ish, but he adjusts the line this time. More towards off stump, goes under Southee's bat and pegs back the off stump. A fantastic display of end-overs bowling, especially to new batsmen.. 225/8
49.2 to MJ Henry, slower ball and goes through Henry. Way too early into his heave. A yorker and a slower ball does for Henry, the yorker equally responsible for this wicket. Henry swings across the line, misses and the off stump is pegged back again. 237/9
43.3 to L Ronchi, and gone! NZ struggling. Short and wide outside off, a bad ball in all fairness. Ronchi goes back and gets a thick outside edge to Dhoni who takes a good catch. Dhoni's right leg went up in instinct. A poor shot from Ronchi, didn't account for the bounce or played under that. NZ in trouble now. 216/6
30.6 to LRPL Taylor, caught on the slog-swipe at deep midwicket. Taylor has fallen to the plan. Mishra bowled the ball faster and outside off stump, Taylor met it with a lunge on the front foot and dragged it from outside off, he hit it quite a long way but not long enough to clear Rohit Sharma on the edge of the boundary. 158/3
40.5 to CJ Anderson, given this time, may have been the seam-up delivery. Full and straight on off and middle, Anderson looked to work that ball into the leg side. Did he hit that off the face? There was definitely two pads on that. Straight and umpire Chaudhary gives him this time. Was plumb if there was no bat. A 102 kph quicker delivery from Mishra.. 204/4
42.4 to KS Williamson, taken! Beautiful bowling, beautiful shot. Lovely catch. Again, Mishra shortens the length and ensures Williamson doesn't get to the pitch of the ball as he shimmies down. Despite not getting there, Williamson lofts his drive straight. Full face of the bat. Would have got enough on that had he got closer to the ball, but didn't as Rahane gets across from his right at long-on to take a good catch near the boundary. End of a really tunning innings. 213/5
20.3 to TWM Latham, Latham's been given lbw, and it looks like the ball might have been missing leg stump! He went back to one angled into him from around the wicket and closed the face of the bat. The ball skidded on with the arm and hit the outside half of the front pad. That might have been clipping leg stump, at best. 120/2

TOTAL49.3 Ov (RR: 4.76, 228 Mins)236
Fall of wickets: 1-21 (Rohit Sharma, 7.1 ov), 2-40 (Virat Kohli, 11.4 ov), 3-72 (Ajinkya Rahane, 18.4 ov), 4-73 (Manish Pandey, 19.2 ov), 5-139 (Kedar Jadhav, 31.1 ov), 6-172 (MS Dhoni, 39.3 ov), 7-180 (Axar Patel, 40.1 ov), 8-183 (Amit Mishra, 40.5 ov), 9-232 (Hardik Pandya, 48.5 ov), 10-236 (Jasprit Bumrah, 49.3 ov)
31.1 to KM Jadhav, caught behind! Jadhav has steered the ball to the wicketkeeper. It was too full and a bit too close to him outside off to try and dab it to third man. Jadhav got down low to try and execute it, but the ball pitched just before and he couldn't control the bounce, a loopy catch for Ronchi. 139/5
7.1 to RG Sharma, taken. A thick outside edge is taken by Ronchi. Back of a length outside off, Rohit tries to force his drive through the off side but the ball may have seamed away just a tad and took the edge. Rohit immediately clutches his bicep, writhing in pain as the physio comes out to take a look at him. Not sure what he has done. Did try to punch the ball, immediate pain after the stroke. Boult, though, is pumped with the wicket. A reward for some very tight bowling.. 21/1
48.5 to HH Pandya, Pandya's fight has ended and silence blankets the Kotla. The short ball brings the wicket. Boult dug that in really short and Pandya met it way outside the crease, trying to slap it down the ground off the front foot and with a flat bat. He was in a really awkward position as he made contact and the top edge flew high in the air towards the fielder on the sweeper boundary. Santner judged the high-pressure catch well. 232/9
18.4 to AM Rahane, he isn't sure. What an effort that is. Anderson gets low, and it looks like he has taken at first glance. Soft decision is out. Good change-up from Southee, a bouncer on middle. Rahane doesn't get on top of the bounce. Pulls to fine leg, where Anderson rushes in, stays low and takes the catch off the ground? Many replays. Did it land just in front of Anderson? Umpire Shamsuddin is the third umpire. He needs conclusive evidence that it has bounced to overturn this. Definitely bounced, but did it in his hands or on the turf. More and more replays. He doesn't have conclusive evidence to overturn his call. No doubt in my mind that it would have been not out had the soft decision been not out. Nonetheless, such is life, such is sport. Rahane has to walk back, India in a bit of trouble.. 72/3
39.3 to MS Dhoni, that is a sensational catch, a little like how Shane Bond caught Cameron White in New Zealand many years ago! Dhoni pushed at the ball a bit too early and it came right back down the pitch, in the air but it was dying as it approached the bowler. Southee was moving towards his left in the follow through but he stopped and dived to his right to scoop the ball with one hand inches before it was going to bounce. So Dhoni will not take this game deep, someone else has to try and finish it for India. New Zealand edge ahead in this tense chase.. 172/6
49.3 to JJ Bumrah, Southee raises his arms in relief almost after delivering the perfect yorker to the No.11, returning the favour to Bumrah. The ball swings into the right-hander and dips under the bat to crash into middle stump, lighting up the bails to give New Zealand their first victory on what has been a tough tour of India. New Zealand level the series with a six-run victory.. 236/10
11.4 to V Kohli, gone. Kohli has been strangled down leg. Flat delivery down leg, Kohli flicks but gets just a thin edge which is wonderfully taken by Ronchi well down leg. Kohli has a smile on his face. Knew he hit that. Unfortunate way to go.. 40/2
40.1 to AR Patel, would you believe it, Axar has mowed a full toss towards long-on, where Santner runs in from the boundary and dives forward to catch it inches from the turf. That was such a loose ball but Axar wasn't entirely balanced as he hit that, perhaps he tried to smash it too hard. 180/7
40.5 to A Mishra, Guptill has two in the over! Luck, or a masterstroke from Williamson? Mishra plonks his front foot down the pitch and mows across the line, the ball flies towards short fine leg off the top edge and Bracewell runs backwards to settle under the catch. This chase has unravelled quickly with India a long way from the target. 183/8
