Century for Quadri in high-scoring draw

A round-up of the fourth day's play of Group C matches from the third round of the Ranji Trophy

Maharashtra 616 for 9 decl. (Jadhav 204, Motwani 107, Khadiwale 107) drew with Hyderabad 528 for 7 (Quadri 113*, Ravi Teja 98, Reddy 86)
Scorecard
Syed Quadri's fourth first-class ton helped take Hyderabad to 528 for 7, as the team drew against Maharashtra at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Quadri struck 13 fours and one six during his unbeaten 113, and added 136 for the fifth wicket Hanuma Vihari, as Hyderabad built on the good starts made by Akshath Reddy and Dwaraka Ravi Teja to slowly chip away at Maharashtra's mammoth first-innings total of 616.
Vihari was eventually dismissed for 80, but Quadri held firm, putting up a 57-run seventh wicket stand with wicketkeeper Habib Ahmed, who contributed 44 of those. Quadri added another half-century partnership with No. 9 Mohammed Khader before it was time for stumps.
After the match, it was found that Maharashtra fast bowler, Sachin Chaudhari, had been charged with a suspect action. He will now have to work at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore to remedy his action.
Andhra 297 and 176 for 1 (Bharat 90, Prasanth 73*) drew with Assam 432 (Jadhav 158, Patel 70, Shivkumar 3-63)
Scorecard
Andhra openers Prasanth Kumar and Srikar Bharat put up an opening-stand of 146 for the second innings against Assam, as the two teams played out a draw in Anantpur, but Assam's first-innings lead of 135 secured them three crucial points.
Assam, who had gone past Andhra's first-innings score of 297 on day three thanks to a century from Dheeraj Jadav, were propelled in the morning by a fifty from Gokul Sharma, that took them to 432. Shankara Rao and Duvvarapu Shivkumar both took three wickets each, as Assam were finally bundled out in 167 overs.
Andhra began their second innings strongly, as Prasanth and Bharat slammed a total of 21 fours and two sixes. Bharat was on course for his maiden first-class ton, but he was caught by Tarjinder Singh off left-arm spinner Syed Mohammad for 90 in the 43rd over. Prasanth, however, remained unbeaten on 73, as he and Murumulla Sriram batted out the next seven overs, before the game fizzled to a stalemate.
