Maharashtra completed a nine-wicket win over Tripura, set up by medium pacer
Sachin Chaudhari's seven-wicket haul in the second innings. Chaudhari's 7 for 52 skittled Tripura out for 218 and Maharashtra chased down the 63-run target in less than nine overs. They will, however, rue the dismissal of opener Harshad Khadiwale, as a 10-wicket win would have given them an extra bonus point.
Playing his second first-class game, Chaudhari took 4 for 44 in the first innings as Tripura were bowled out for 304, boosted by a century from Yogesh Takawale. A double century from Vijay Zol and a hundred from Khadiwale propelled Maharashtra to 460, helping them establish a foothold on the match.
Takawale became the first Tripura player to score a ton in both innings, but his fighting 109 in the second innings, which included 10 fours and three sixes, could not help his team post a substantial target for Maharashtra. Chaudhari, meanwhile, finished with a match haul of 11 wickets for 96 runs.
A 101-run, third-wicket partnership between Sibsankar Roy and Tarjinder Singh helped Assam draw their game against Kerala in Guwahati. Kerala, buoyed by Sanju Samson's double hundred in the first innings, took three points due to first-innings lead of 39 runs.
Assam, who began the day at 13 for 0, lost openers Pallavkumar Das and Dheeraj Jadhav early, but Roy and Tarjinder stabilised the innings, batting for more than 40 overs. The Kerala bowlers, led by Vinoop Manoharan and Chovvakkaran Shahid, struck regularly once the partnership was broken. However, contributions from Kunal Saikia and Abu Nechim helped Assam stave off defeat.
Centuries from the openers
Amogh Desai and
Swapnil Asnodkar on the final day helped Goa draw their curtailed match against Himachal Pradesh in Dharamsala. Himachal were awarded three points after claiming a first-innings lead of 315.
Goa, who were asked to follow on on the third evening after being dismissed for 243, fared better in their second innings at the crease, as Desai and Asnodkar put together a 238-run stand. Desai was dismissed for 126 - his second first-class hundred - while Asnodkar remained unbeaten on 109, his 10th first-class century.
Rishi Dhawan, who had taken a five-for in the first innings, went wicketless in the second.
Hyderabad's 36-run first-innings lead earned them three points against Andhra, as the game fizzled out into a draw.
Hyderabad began the fourth day from an overnight score of 96 for 2 and
Hanuma Vihari set about scoring his second fifty of the match, adding stands of 56 and 50 with T Suman and Amol Shinde on the way. Vihari's half-century came off 222 balls and included five fours. Marripuri Suresh was the pick of the Andhra bowlers, finishing with 10-1-32-3. With a target of 288, Andhra openers Prasanth Kumar and Srikar Bharat ensured the side reached 51 for no loss at the end of the day.
