Jharkhand scent innings win after Nadeem six-for

A round-up of the Ranji Trophy Group C matches on November 17, 2015

Tripura 166 and 132 for 9 (Murasingh 52, Nadeem 6-35) trail Jharkhand 394 for 4 declared (Jaggi 102*, Tiwary 94, Anand 91) by 96 runs
Scorecard
Shahbaz Nadeem's second five-wicket haul of the season left Jharkhand on the verge of an innings victory against Tripura in Agartala. Jharkhand, who were already at a commanding 296 for 3 when the day began, rode on Ishank Jaggi's maiden hundred of the season, and his 166-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Kumar Deobrat. Jaggi stroked 14 fours for his unbeaten 102, while Deobrat's 63 featured 10 fours. Jharkhand eventually declared for 394 for 4 after Deobrat was dismissed. It meant Tripura needed to post at least 228 to make Jharkhand bat again, but as was the case in their first innings, the hosts lost wickets right from the off even in their second dig, as Nadeem ran through the line-up on his way to collecting 6 for 35. With Tripura reduced to 110 for 9, Jharkhand had three overs to take the last wicket and wrap up the win inside three days, but the final pair of Tushar Saha and Abhijit Sarkar held firm, forcing the match into the final day.
Saurashtra 261 for 6 (Jaydev 96*, Jani 56, Dhawan 2-39) trail Himachal Pradesh 551 by 290 runs
Scorecard
An unbeaten 96 from Jaydev Shah held Saurashtra's innings together, but the team lost six wickets in reply to Himachal Pradesh's 551 in Rajkot. Saurashtra were precariously placed at 107 for 4, but were rescued by a 104-run partnership between Chirag Jani and Jaydev. The pair batted together for nearly 40 overs, but suffered a blow towards the end of the day when Chirag was dismissed by Akash Vasisht for 56. The team also lost Saurya Sanandiya before stumps were called, meaning Himachal were well-placed to collect first-innings points. Vasisht and Rishi Dhawan picked up two wickets apiece for the visitors.
Services 353 and 77 for 3 lead Hyderabad 272 (Reddy 125, Pathania 3-63) by 158 runs
Scorecard
A batting collapse from Hyderabad handed Services first-innings points in their Ranji clash in Delhi. Hyderabad, who were well-placed at 143 for 0 when the day began, lost their way once their centurion Akshath Reddy was dismissed. Reddy stroked his way to 125, with 21 fours, but his dismissal in the 87th over triggered a slide that saw the team lose seven wickets for just 62 runs. Diwesh Pathania was the pick of Services' bowlers, taking 3 for 63, while Raushan Raj and Muzzaffaruddin Khalid chipped in with two each, as Hyderabad were bundled out for 272. With a lead of 81 secured, Services made their way to 77 for 3 by stumps in their second innings.
Kerala 441 (Fernandez 109, Fabid 106) beat Goa 191 (Desai 38, Warrier 6-44) and 167 (Parameswaran 38, Warrier 3-31) by an innings and 81 runs
Scorecard
Medium-pacer Sandeep Warrier finished with a match haul of nine wickets, as Kerala crushed Goa by an innings and 83 runs inside three days. Goa, who were 81 for 2 in their first innings when the day began, folded for 191, with none of their batsmen producing a score of note. Warrier wrecked their line-up as he eventually finished with 6 for 44, his best figures in first-class cricket. With a lead of 250 in hand, Kerala enforced the follow on, and once again, Goa failed to get going, losing wickets at regular intervals. The team's last-wicket pair of Prasanth Parameswaran and Amit Yadav kept Kerala waiting by holding firm for a 65-run partnership, but the visitors eventually wrapped up the victory. Warrier was once again the pick of the bowlers, snaring three wickets, while Rohan Prem, Karaparambil Monish and Fabid Ahmed picked up two each.
