Scorecard
Adam Voges and Michael Klinger piled on the runs and agony on South Australia, as Western Australia, starting the third day on 2 for 169, surged to 8 for 611, and built a lead of 142 runs in Adelaide.
Voges and Klinger, who made hundreds in their previous innings against the same opposition, extended their rich form, adding 311 runs for the third wicket. Captain Voges raised his second first-class double century and reeled off 31 fours in his knock, before he was caught by Tom Cooper off right-arm seamer Trent Lawford for 249, in the 143rd over. Klinger was out for 151, also perishing to the pair of Cooper and Lawford. It was Voges' career-best first-class score, bettering his unbeaten 235 last season.
Ashton Agar (58*) then assumed charge and struck a rapid fifty, assisted by handy contributions from Shaun Marsh (33) and Tom Beaton (22). Lawford and Adam Zampa, the legspinner, shared five wickets between them, but conceded 350 runs.
