Queensland 255 (Renshaw 56, Bell 3-43, Rainbird 3-50) and 285 (Peirson 61, Wade 3-13) beat Tasmania 115 (Bailey 25, Feldman 6-32) and 219 (Doran 95, Neser 3-47) by 206 runs
Scorecard
Queensland vaulted past New South Wales to go to the top of the Sheffield Shield table with a comprehensive thumping of Tasmania on the final morning of the match at the Gabba in Brisbane.
Needing 426 for victory, Tasmania were more or less out of the march entering the final day, six wickets down and with neither Jackson Bird nor Gabe Bell available to bat due to injuries suffered during the match. Bird's hamstring strain arrived less than a week before Australia's touring team was due to depart for South Africa and places him in serious doubt.
Queensland were happy to take advantage with Luke Feldman claiming the last two wickets of Tom Rogers and Simon Milenko to finish with nine for the match, including a career-best 6 for 32 in the first innings. He also made 47 batting at No. 11 on day one, leaving little doubt over the Player-of-the-Match award.
